Jeep Wrangler TJ Gauge Fix Ep 1 

I have a 97 Wrangler. Besides it almost never starting on the first try, lately so within the last month, my battery connection has been iffy, my headlights stopped working, and my gauges have been acting super trippy. sometimes not working at all, other times jumping around. All my cluster lights are acting funny too. I'll be checking this. Thank you for the info!

Nice Jeep, Addie! That heat shrink with the built-in sealer is super cool!!! I need to get some of that! Awesome job as always, John. I was with you on the excitement of the gauges coming to life! I thought it was cool that you mentioned cleaning the connector blades first off. A similar thing occurs with old pinball machines. When they stop working the problem is most often oxidized connectors. Clean 'em and wala! WOOT! =)

Ok, first great video! I don't even have a gauge problem on my 97 but I watched anyways, and thank God I did. I have the same thing wrong with my power distribution block clips and I have it basically taped together and it did not even occur to me to strap it down like that! Thank you good sir I feel like an idiot 🤣

If radio is inop as well check IOD fuse in the under hood fuse compartment. Mine was blown and radio and instrument cluster were not operating ,only lights and turn signal worked before repair! Thanks! Cheers!

I have a 1997 TJ 4 cylinder and was having problems with the gauges. I took the dash out and cleaned everything. It did not change anything. While playing with the interior fuse box behind the glove box I pulled the right air bag fuse(there are two air bag fuses) and the gauges all started working and have worked since. The fuse looked good but I replaced it with a new one and they stopped working again. So I pulled the fuse and have left it out and everything is fine now.
