So I just finished cleaning my kitchen after feeding my family this exact meal..this dish was super easy to make and the results were outstanding! My kids and husband were mainly silent whilst eating because they were too busy lapping up the food..however the only thing that kept getting repeated by them all was “oh man this is delicious” “mommy this is sooo tasty” so thank you for sharing this exquisite family gem!
Ahh I'm so happy to hear that you made the Jeera chicken and loved it! It really is a remarkable dish and you simply won't find this recipe anywhere. It used to be a sell-out dish when we had our restaurant and I'm sure you can understand why as it is absolutely delicious! My family and I are so happy to hear that you enjoyed it! We hope you enjoy our other recipes too and our daily videos. Best wishes 😊
This was absolutely amazing - I did make adjustments the second time - added another 2 tbsp of jeera because we love the jeera taste, it's never overpowering - also possible our jeera batch isn't the freshest and lost some of it's hit. We also added a couple more tomatoes (to create a little more sauce), added more green chilli's and omitted the red chilli powder, and we blitzed in fresh garlic and ginger - made for a very very slightly more peppery taste and the garlic and ginger came through more (always a symptom of using paste - for weekday convenience, paste all the way, but for weekend cooking, fresh stuff does make a difference). This is the beauty of eastern dishes, slight tweaks to adapt texture/taste and also depending on available cooking time. The recipe itself is gold dust, tried quite a few others and they just weren't the same as this even before the small mods, and also not as easy to do (one-pot style). I've also made it with breast pieces too (marinaded in some salt and fresh lemon beforehand to help keep tender) and that is where this recipe works so well - my partner isn't a fan of boned chicken but boned is easier to cook with and stays tender - breast is really tricky to get tender (quality of breast also plays a factor). Thanks for the recipe - it's become our staple jeera chicken method!
Ahh that makes me and my family so happy that you enjoyed our Jeera Chicken recipe. It used to be a sell-out dish when we had our restaurant and I'm sure you can understand why. @@imran.familykitchen I absolutely will. Every one who ate it was raving about how delicious it was. Just curious to know...you said this was one of your best top 3 dishes. Which are the other two?
You cooked this amazing dish with a turn for me without any added salt, I cooked this item so many times when I was in Tanzania way back. My secret of this dish is boiled or steam the chicken first for the faster the process.

Aslm , I decided to make this dish today for dinner and this will be the second time cooking it , my family and I absolutely loved / love it ❤ JazaakAllahu Khairan to you and your family for sharing one of the many treasures with us . May you all be rewarded abundantly and may the channel flourish aswell Ameen🤲🏼♥️
Initially I was skeptical about this recipe seeing all that black pepper and zeera. But i made it today and it turned out beautiful restaurant like. My mom loved it. This dish has no onions, no added water, no tomato paste, no turmeric, no garam.masala and is certainly a winning simple dish. So I guess the spices even out. I would make it again for sure. I made it with chicken thighs and drumstick pieces.
Ahh that's amazing! We're so glad you made our favourite recipe! Indeed very few ingredient but so full of flavour. We're so happy that you're making our recipes and enjoying them. It really makes our day 😊
The best jeera chicken I have tried to make.I am from Kenya too Made it last night..waaaahhh just as you said it. I bet your Dad will be a bit upset you gave his secret away.LOL Bless him.
Ahh that sounds awesome! So glad that you made this recipe and enjoyed it! Haha - it definitely is a WAAAAH dish and for me personally it's the best tasting dish ever! Insha Allah - Please do let us know how it turns out when you make it! It's really delicious and it used to be a sell-out when we used to sell this in our restaurant. This is a very special recipe in our household and one that you will not find anywhere. It's absolutely delicious 😋
I made this today but yet to taste it. Was very easy to make but I didn’t have dried Methi or Mint sauce. I used fresh Methi and few fresh Mint leaves. The aroma is lush. Thank you for sharing your family recipes.
@@imran.familykitchen I did it was amazing with the fresh ingredients but a little too spicy as went heavy handed with the chillies and chilli powder. 🙈
I made these jeera chicken wings, Don Imran’s restaurant style. It looked exactly like yours and tasted very good too. Everyone in my family enjoyed so much. The only thing i used little less was that black pepper powder as I mentioned earlier. Next time i will try to cook with exactly how much you recommend and see if it tastes very hot or not.
Ahh that is absolutely wonderful to hear that you made the recipe and your family enjoyed it too! It makes my family and I so so happy to hear that! Please do try it with the extra black pepper as it isn't as hot as you might think and it really does elevate the flavour! It is definitely one of the top three dishes in our household and up until this video it was a closely guarded secret recipe too. We hope you and your family continue to enjoy this and our other recipes too :)
Ahh we're super happy to hear that you tried our favourite recipe and really enjoyed it! You can find more of our East African recipes in our playlist. Have a great day!
Hey Imran, many thanks for this recipe. I've been waiting for this recipe for many years since I was lucky enough to sample it. Thanks so much for sharing. 🙏🧘♂️👍
@@imran.familykitchen Hi Imran, fantastic recipe. Didn't quite replicate the fantastic taste that I experienced when your Dad cooked it many years ago! Had to use chilli power instead of Kashmiri and crushed fenugreek seeds instead of kasuri methi. Anyway, sure I'll nail it sometime soon. Many thanks for all your fantastic recipes over the last few weeks. Good work 🙏🧘♂️👍
@@darenkitching1156 Hey Daren, ahh that's great that you made the Jeera Chicken. It's one of those dishes that you never forget the taste even if you had it many years ago! It's ok to substitute chili powder instead of Kashmiri chili, the later is not as hot as chili powder and gives a deeper colour, so it's best to add according to how hot you'd like it. We wouldn't substitute crushed fenugreek seeds for the kasuri methi though as that would give a completely different flavour (even though they are the same plant). Instead, we would just omit the methi if you don't have any. I'm sure you'll get there next time you try! Thanks so much for your support, encouragement and kind words! 🙏
@@imran.familykitchen Hi Imran, managed to source some Kasuri methi. Very happy with the outcome of jeera chicken. Also tried the coriander and mint chutney, very tasty indeed. Thankyou so much for your efforts. Good work fella. Thanks
@@darenkitching1156 Hi Darren, sorry I missed this comment. I'm so happy to hear that you managed to find the kasuri methi and were happy with the Jeera Chicken. Dad is happy to hear that too! You're very welcome. Feel free to let us know if you have any recipe requests 😊
I love this type of chicken, looks so rich in flavor, so nice! Don't know much about Moroccan food but this sure looks great to me! It must be a comfort food 👍👍
Ahh that's amazing! My family and I are so happy to hear that you tried it and enjoyed it. It really is the best Jeera recipe that you will ever find. Masha Allah very tasty🖒👌 may be its very hot coz of pepper.. kasuri methi gives awesome flavour in chicken🍗 luv it.. thanks for sharing such a delicious n mouth watering recipe 👌👌👌💕💕
Thanks a lot! It looks like a lot of pepper but it is one of the main ingredients and gives it such a delightful flavour. This dish was so popular in our restaurant. We only used to sell it Fri-Sun and each time the huge pots used to be wiped out. We wish you can try it one day! I'm sure you will really love it!
Don Imran Family Kitchen I can’t wait to try it with half the amount of peppers you used keeping my children’s tastebuds in mind. I love hot food, even the fresh green chillies but then i get the burning feelings all over.😂
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy like all the other people who have tried it and wrote in the comments. It really is a spectacular dish and used to be a sell-out in our restaurant. ⭐️
