30 years ago Jeff came to our house to deliver two rescue cats, he was with Celia Hammond at them time, I almost fell over when he walked in holding one of them. They had a cup of tea while we settled the cats in and he was just as you imagine, totally modest, interesting and a heart of gold……..RIP Jeff you will never be forgotten.

I recall hearing that they rescued up to 100 cats. She could have been a cat hoarder and that's why they broke up. Some rumors are real. Really miss Jeff...saw Les Paul when he was 89 thought Jeff would make it to 90 and still be playing. The immune system becomes stressed when you play live gigs and people in the audience are sneezing and coughing. Or backstage in close quarters where socializing becomes a form of Russian roulette. Don't know what details are known but this is a big bummer for Jeff Beck fans. Different than the horrible mass shootings but tragic non the less. RIP Jeff... your catalog of music plays in my heart.

We've just lost Jeff and I am heartbroken, absolutely devastated. He was my hero and changed my life really and my musical influences, but he was always top of the tree and then some. There are lots of news shorts about his passing and the usual crass click bait "tributes" who know nothing about him. Watching this video about his passion for hot rods gives me comfort, because I love his sense of humour and character as well as his playing, and this is Jeff being Jeff. Fame, even though he was never super famous in the mainstream, sometimes got to Jeff, and hot rods was something he could delve into to almost escape guitar playing and music, even! Rest in rock n roll Jeff. Thank you for everything.

Jeff Beck was a great buddy of Eric Clapton and Eric is into hot rods too, I guess Jeff put him onto Brizio's in South San Francisco, I was on a holiday in California from New Zealand with my buddy and we called into Brizio's back in 2015 and they were building a 32 3 window steel deuce for Eric, we were in the showroom and the guys said do you guys want to look around the shop, if you do just go out the back and talk to the guys, we were walking around taking to the guys on the floor, saw Jeff's roadster and Eric's 3 window which was about 75% finished, great guitarists, great hot rodders and Brizios shop left me with a lifelong memory ! Im still struggling with the reality of accepting the fact that Jeff Beck is no longer amongst the living. As selfish as that may sound? He was the best of the holy trinity of Beck, Clapton and Page in the 60s and 70s. He was the one who was most in tune with melodic structure. Its one of the most challenging things to a guitarist. Most of us guitarists learned the minor and major pentatonic scales and their respective patterns early, and it served us well to learn to jam to world music, blues and rock. But to truly understand what Jeff Beck did throughout his career was to be melodic and sing with the guitar, of course depending on the musical situation. Today I was working with a more advanced student on how to pick out melodies. I told him to listen to Jeff Beck's recordings of 'She's a Woman', 'A Day in the Life' and 'Over the Rainbow'. What he did with those tunes was nothing short of genius. I went on about identifying the key and go with the proper key and scales to find the right notes. The notes will be there and its your job to find those melodies within those notes of the scale. I had him pick out the melody of "Over the Rainbow"...he kind of struggled to find the notes...then I told him, "think of the notes in the key of G, and you'll find them." Sure enough...notes all natural, with the exception of F#. Then...he found them. Im so sorry to have heard this news so suddenly. Mr Beck...Ive had the privilege to witness your virtuosity live when you toured with Santana in the 90s. RIP Jeff Beck...your legacy will remain with us forever, and we'll never forget you.

It’s funny cause I watched a few documentaries over the past couple of days and his old band mates from the Yarbirds said he had a bad temper. Destroyed a Marshall a night for a few nights in a row and another time smashed his Les Paul to splinters, seemed like it occurred right before he left the Yardbirds. I like to think he mellowed with age 😊

This is an older show. We just lost Jeff last week and it really sucks. He was a cool guy. I used to work at Brizio street rods , and Roy was good friends with Jeff. He had Brizio build him a few cars , one of which is the copper 3 window in the background. Ironically , one of the days he came to visit his build , which is also the first day I met him , we had the original graffiti coupe in the shop for some repairs. You can imagine Jeffs excitement to see it , and best of all , got to drive it. I didn't know at the time the car was so iconic to him , but I got to witness a historical moment for sure. R.I.P. There's nothing cooler than a great musician who also likes to build classic/antique chassis, or just has a love for classis cars. James Hettfield comes to mind. My dad restored an old '48 Plymouth and it took him a few decades in his spare time, even though he worked all daylight hours, so he worked in his dirt floor garage under dim lights. I remember the smells of the interior and how fragile the cloth was. I wish he hadn't sold it back in the '90s.

RIP, Jeff Beck. You were a huge influence on me, and you will be missed greatly. But, on a lighter note... I'm not car crazy, (but I am guitar crazy, for sure), so I knew I wouldn't know your trivia question, as I know nothing about cars. Boy, was I in for a surprise, when I knew the answer before you were done asking the question! Turns out, though I don't know anything about cars, I know a lot about Big Daddy Don Garlits, who was friends with my car crazy dad, who was a mechanic and had his own shop/gas station, on long Island, when I was a kid. Whenever Big Daddy was in town, he would always park one of his dragsters in front of my dad's shop, for a day or two, to promote business for his old pal. He'd even hang out fir a bit, signing autographs and posing for photos, for a bit. It worked like a charm, and had a lasting effect, (until the "gas shortage" put my dad out of business). As a result, I, (known for not being car crazy), remember him as a one of my dad's coolest friends. He always brought me some black licorice, that we both loved, and strawberry Laffy Taffy for my sister, on the rare occasions he would visit our house. And we always hung out with him and his crew in the pit, (we always had pit passes, at all the race tracks, all the time. My dad was a well loved grease monkey back in the day). But, of all the drivers I met as a kid, (more than I can remember), Big Daddy was by far my favorite, and the only one that I bothered to learn anything about. My little brother, (who was too young to remember him), still has all my autographed photos of him, (and other drivers), and my dad still has a photo of me sitting in one of his dragsters in front of his shop. So, I watched this video to learn something about one of my guitar heros, who recently passed away, and was brought on a major flashback to some of the best times shared with my dad. Thanks for that unexpected treat. And thanks for sharing this visit with Jeff.

I was just listening too the live album he recorded with Bogert and Appice the night before he passed . I have known about his love for cars since I was a teeny bopper back in the mid- seventies . He was featured in Creem magazine in a section the magazine would do on stars and their cars . This was probably in late 1976 or early 77 . Goodbye Jeff . Rest easily!

Just wish there was a auto mechanic in the Pittsburgh area that was big Jeff fan that could help me get my vehicle back on the road. I feel like i can't relate to people unless they like Jeff's music, at least aware of his abilities. I'm a true oddball...🎶

My love for Jeff Beck as a guitarist and person is immeasurable. I have never been in the same building with him, but have learned more about guitar just watching him perform than any person I have had personal contact with. That is just how amazing an artist he was. Prayers and best wishes to his family after such a loss.

No one went on the guitar quest like Jeff did. I was fortunate to see him in 2017 and got to watch his sound check even. I have seen many guitarists, but no one impressed me like he did. Electric guitar never sounded better.

After the 1995 tour with Santana i decided to get all of Jeff's music so by the time 99 rolled around and he toured with Jennifer i was primed. Then the title came out "you had it coming" It spoke to me, followed him intensely, went to at least 15 shows...all over the place. All his drummers were great, one of his big influences were the different drummers for sure, and also the other musicians. He fed off of their energies. He had so much flow, there was anywhere he wanted to go. He also did 2 tracks for Ozzy in the last year. His playing makes them great..👍

This week, I wrote in my Kar Kulture E-News from Daylesford in Australia, the news of Jeff's passing from ill health and another of my car icons, Ken Block who was killed in a snowmobile accident on his Utah ranch. Two special car guys, unique in their fields and it's sad to realize they are gone, but we have lots of RU-vid videos to remember them both at any time.

Didn't know Jeff Beck did his own mechanicing. What a superb line up of cars that don't mean much to me but do to many folks into that side of cars. So interesting, as is his playing, he kinda throws the rule book out when he is going "Blues Out !" Fantastic innovator, on the run. Beautiful music. Someone else here remarked on his ability to tell a story, so correct, he has you spell bound. An ordinary guy with talent oozing out. Am better off for seeing that interview thanks :)
