I went to the ARMs show at the Cow Palace, but thought it was '83. Did they do two shows a year apart? I remember him playing "Star Cycle", but I don't remember this, cause I would have.
@@analogman9697 I I don’t remember the dates & only found out about the Cow Palace show recently. Seems like a long time ago . 40 yrs sigh… Thought Bonnie Raitt was great 🎸
@@Rich915 Must have been two separate shows. Don't remember Bonnie Raitt but the trips down Amnesia Avenue have become more frequent.Sure glad I'm not gettin' old! And thanks to Jeff, my finger tips are raw from trying to play his licks. That's why he got into hot rods...easier on the hands.
Jeffs band members here are well seasoned pros, Fernando Saunders, Simon Phillips and Tony Hymas. They play tight, clean and dynamic, with conviction and harmony!
Such a,sad, loss one, off,no will, sound like, jeff again great control of whammy and volume control thanks jeff for all the years of listening to you rip jeff
Every person that I've ever shown this song to, more or less couldn't help telling me that it changed their life course dramatically afterwards. Jeff Beck is as important as sunrises and any touted prog rock guitarist even the Fripp's, Howe's, Rutherford's, etc., in terms of what he derived from the guitar, directed to the human sensibilities.
My favorite guitar song of all time. Learned how to play it back in 1985 took 3 years to play it well and hundreds of hours practicing! The song is iconic and lets my mind go to places that I have never been
'84 huh? The one I went to was in NYC's MSG after the drive from DC/MD to see ANY ZEP ANYTHING after they'd shattered & not knowing what the future held. This sounds great loud
Was so Fortunate to see this Tour with as I call the 3 Horsemen, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page & Eric Clapton in 1983 in San Francisco @ The Cow Palace. Incredible Concert
Nice arrangement, with the volume drop. Notice that "put your hands together" comment came at just the wrong time, derailing the song's intro -- and Beck's confidence in the band, until the second chorus. Notice also what a great sound Beck's getting with just one combo amp and a bit of delay. And he plays it all with his thumb!
That "put your hands togerther" was done to stall because the bass players amp wasn't working. In the situation, the bassist also missed the first change from E to G.
