I miss the days of making that religious trip to the record store. Buy an album. Cassette tape it & read all the material in the gatefold. Then in 1988 ish, everything went to CDs. Just smaller. I would go to Tower Records in my area that stayed open until midnight. The HUGE magazine stands. Now, it's streaming & I miss those days. By the way, Jeff was my open counselor at M.I. when I was in Hollywood from 1988 to 1990. His musicianship is a force.

I agree with "Nobody listens to the bass solo" in clubs. But in all the Jazz concerts I've been to (And I've been to a lot, including Jeff's) people always clap their hands after a bass solo :D

Miles also said, somewhere on RU-vid, that he'd turn his back to the audience because each stage is different & he would find a sweet spot of how his trumpet would react acoustically. If that's true or not, we'll never know.

Bruford/Berlin/Holdsworth/Stewart, One of a Kind sounds as futuristic today as when it came out. Thanks for the interesting content.
