For a brief moment in time, Craig Ferguson latched onto Goldblums slightly offbeat nature and they created something in unison that messaged that it's the rest of the world that is offbeat. Other talk show hosts are mere Christmas card photographers when compared to this guy
I believe that you have nailed it. And Craig Ferguson knows just how to let his guests just interview themselves. Starts it up, and then kicks back and watches the results, with a few interjections.
What I always loved about Craig is that he made this show feel like hanging out at a friend’s house listening to various friends joke around. Ugh I miss this show so much! And Jeff is a damn gift!
Something I notice about Jeff in his interviews is he often invites people to come do something with him. It doesn't come across as phoney Hollywood 'we should grab lunch' but rather that he is a people person who genuinely enjoys spending his time with new people.
Jeff Goldblum is about 69 yo, has a MUCH younger (and lovely) wife, plus a couple of kids. He more recently bec. a parent for second time, proof that men, really, have it made in the "aging" category...! Still love him!
Ya, even if you pseudo-insult him (as Craaihg playfully does, repeatedly) Jeff leans back smiling, turns to the audience, laughs & makes a mild laughing comeback ... pure gold!
The reason Craig and Conan are so amazing is that when they interrupt the guest, it's with something that adds to the conversation and plays off the guest or stimulates the conversation further (even if it's about the host or teasing the guest). And they show genuine interest in the guest. Other hosts constantly interrupt with their own agenda that is rarely related to what the guest said, and don't care about the guest at all.
He did it for 10 years and when they were retiring David Letterman and they didn't give him David Letterman's spot, he decided to retire from this show as well.
Wow, this guy is so....random...so, outside the box. I love him. I thought Craig was out there, watching a lot of his interviews, but Jeff takes over. Craig is just a spectator.
With all these uploads man I really miss Craig's show Every guest seemed to actually really enjoy themselves with him, u just dont see that with anyone else, i really tried watching all the others but this guy was just something else.
Jeff Goldblum. Is there anyone more charming who exemplifies the art of conversation? Craig is also charming and the chemistry between these two is delightful.
When watching these two together, I just am so envious of their minds and how they must work. They are both so very different from each other, yet both brilliant in their own ways. I can see where Craig would be like a lot of comedians - probably sort of a pain in the ass at times, difficult to live with, has a lot of scars from life and relationships, yet so much fun at other times. Jeff to me is like a whole different dreamy way of thinking - he is so in the artistic realm that he doesn't see the world the same way as most people. Having some of the same issues as Craig, I would much rather be a super dreamy/positive thinker type like Jeffrey. He is just so lovely and interested in everything a person says. It's like he files it in the back of his mind for further reference. I am picturing his mind as a bunch of those old library cupboards with the index cards that told you where to find things on the shelves. (I am 51, so I am not crazy, it really was that way!)
I'm just starting into the hours and hours jayleno fly has put up here. Amazing compilations! They're keeping me sane during this pandemic 🤷♂️😝 edit : got the name wrong
Watching these two together is truly fascinating to behold. Two completely contrasting but equally masterful improvisational performers. The bit there about psychology showcases how much intelligence craig hides behind all that cheeky wit. A Truly underestimated host.
This show's become addictive for me. I think I watch it to 100% counter the C19/injections lunacy. It really helps. Craig saw it coming & did this show as a national outreach ... 🫣🥳
I love that Jeff Goldblum likes Burn After Reading. That does my heart good. I would love to see him in a Coen Brothers movie. Seems like a natural fit for one of their comedies.
So I had never even HEARD of Craig Ferguson before this channel but quickly found myself bingewatching a LOT of them (think I might've seen almost all 'everyvisits' by now) and maaan am I glad I've watched this just now, it really was like a series finale or something. Those two really are insane together, and even though Craig manages to almost always make it an excellent show, a chemistry like that I haven't seen with any guest before. Thanks for making these, Fly, btw., this channel does get me through some hard times every once in a while.
Love how Goldblum is genuinely intereted in the other person, whoever it may be, to the extent that interviews actually turn into interesting conversations.
@@nadaelian367 nope. Maybe conan and Jeff are friends but Conan isn't that good of a host. Too predictable, too PC. He's way funnier when he used to tour outside the studio in different countries.
I didn't know I wanted this style of content to exist, so thank you for compartmentalizing appearances of guests like this since it really cements personality of a celebrity. And Craig is best.
It's been so long since Craig was on late night stuff, I forgot how much I loved his show. I used to only watch him back then. Now I watch Conan, who's also wacky and wonderful but Craig was a different beast. Craig's interviews were the all time best!
I get the feeling from his first couple of appearances that he wasn't sure if Craig was truly making fun of him or not. I think like most of his guests, Jeff had never seen the show, and was there because his agent had put it in his schedule. That's a complete guess on my part, of course, I'm watching an edited clip of a TV show that ended a decade ago of a man I've never met talking to another man I've never met, but I am rather good at reading faces.
Man, I feel like a whole hour with him is simply not enough! lol I just love how Jeff can distract Craig so easily with all his quirks while Craig distracts him with his looks. haha Actually, their dynamic is so unlike any of the interviews Craig has done... apart from Robin Williams where it's mainly full of laughs. With Goldblum, it's like being in another dimension.
Jeff Goldblum is definitely the best guest on any talk show, definitely one of the best on this show! he vibes so well with Craig, getting into the most bizarre and fun topics. i miss this show!
1:11:19 BTW, "samizdat" it's a Russian name for illegal literature (mostly anti-communist) which had been publishing in USSR by different people who wanted to read forbidden literature, often with a help of typewriters and copying paper, it's short for "self-publishing" ("sam" - self, "izdat" - publish(ing). And Jeff also pronounce it very good.
Whitebeard79outOfRus You beat me to that answer! I study Russian language and culture so i was familiar with that term but i will let you own that comment. Good one!
Whitebeard79outOfRus I really read between the lines of literature, i dig deep rather than just comb over the top. Most people who study literature tend to stick with familiar subjects or authors, there is so much more to be had than just what everyone knows. One thing is true, I absolutely love everything Russian! I'm an American who longs for the Motherland, USA is becoming extremely out of control with the liberals, sjws, Democrats, etc. Russia is the only country that still has a set of balls, that still believes in traditional families, still has logic and common sense, yeah Russia it is for me. Cheers.
First time I've watched an hour long youtube video in my life lol, very fun to watch Jeff Goldblum. That was an Interesting show well done to Craig yet again never disappoints great host. I would definitely be friends with these two
He's being playful as toying is disrespectful. If a guest feels toyed with they'd be uncomfortable and unhappy. Craig "plays" with his guests which they find amusing and captivating.
Oh my God, the bit with the whole "There was some downstairs, HEY BABY~" had me crying with tears. I had to stop the video, because I was laughing so hard.
“Replaced” sounds like Craig was fired and Corden replaced him. Crain left the show ( even though CVS didn’t want him to go) and Corden had the fucking privilege to fill Craig’s shoes.
I could watch Jeff Goldblum and Craig Ferguson talk absolutely nonsense for days 😂 That’s pure comedic genius right there! Nothing could ever compare to The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Not even David Letterman, and he was one of the greatest. Thank you The Jayleno Fly for keeping the greatest talk show of all time ALIVE, we all owe you ❤️
I think people are as individual as snowflakes, they kinda look alike but no two are the same, and all classification is the root of prejudice- Craig Ferguson
I don't think Jeff could stay on track with a single thought chatting with him is like starting a dozen different conversation threads and never truly getting to a conclusion with any of them.
No matter what I keep coming back to these interviews because this is my favourite combination. They connected so well with each other it's just a joy to watch :)
Thanks for sharing these. Was kind of Amazing watching 10 years of interviews and seeing them Jeff Goldblum go from a dark brown head of hair across to salt-and-pepper white. Age gets us all
It's odd how the movies Jeff Goldblum is in give no indication of what a neat guy he is. But then he, revelation, he's acting in them. Terrific musical chops by his band!
