Zil Co oh dear you have no idea, this IS Jeff’s jazz band. He’s played with them for decades. Mildred Schnitzer was a family friend of the Goldblum’s I believe and the band is named for her.

@@MudStuffinAnd each performance sounds prepared in the manner patmcc suggests. If one transcribes his parts/solos, as one would do on music school, there won't be a disclosure of anything unique. He's got a ii-V-I and a Mixolydian scale. That's about the end. There's a lot of odd rhythmic things he likes to do, especially when attempting to comp, that just don't seem to have context to the arrangements he plays. Cool outfit and groovy facial expressions.

Agreed. I'm not hearing much substance in musicality at all. Just a guy noodling around. Unsure if he can actually play or even read music. Love Jeff, but I wouldn't pay for a concert

Yes, plus he plays like his persona (eccentric), but misses the mark of what Monk and the modernist cats of the 40s had under control (stride and swing) ... To much noodling and nonsense, I don't hear a clear voice, but it is entertaining to see him animated ... Deep down inside, I'm sure his band members feel the same way but are only in it for the paycheque $$...

Hey….It’s jazz. It’s improvisational music. You want to hear straight piano, go to your third grade piano teacher for that. Jeff Goldblum has studied piano and is a naturally gifted pkayer. Read his intervuew in Rolling Stone.

Jeff said in an interview that Mildred was his mother's friend who lived to be at least 102 years old. He said she attended one of his groups' performances when she was in her nineties.
