Jeff Lynne's ELO From Out Of Nowhere Review 

About the CD: When I got it off of Amazon, it didn’t come in a plastic case; it had a really cool looking gatefold with the little booklet and CD. I guess you could say I got the “softcover” version of it. Great review!

Time Of Our Life is about when they played at Wembley not Hyde Park. Still a great song though!!!!!

I personally loved this album. I get the difference of opinions on it but I loved it. It is very short but he has been interviewed about that and said on this one he wanted it that way and said he’s open to making the next one different and longer. Great review dude. Also it was released in a digipack with the spaceship embossed.

Re: All My Love--look at the lyrics for the verses. There's a lot in there, a full narrative actually. I can see how it feels overly repetitive and simplistic, but to me it's more a single, smooth wash of sound than it is one-note or samey. Also, it's unlike almost anything else I can think of that I've heard from Jeff, so I found it very refreshing if minimalistic. That impression could go for the album as a whole. I'd have said, actually, that it has a bit more variation of tone and tempo than AITU, more upbeat, and some of the songs are more substantial.

I admire your views of ELO very much. Myself I know all Jeff Lynne music like Idle Race, The Move and ELO. This new album sounds pleasent. But the the only gem is the title song like from Idle Race days !

Great review James feel you were fair about album. It's a good album he never makes bad ones but was expecting something different maybe in future. I think he was writing about Wembley gig on time of our life song. It's a fantastic album cover the lenticular one. Have a great Christmas. Kind regards joe

Though I disagree with you on some of your comments, you are applauded for an objective fan review. A major factor that makes much of the album’s music seem boring to some is Jeff’s simple, metronomic 4/4 drumming. I wish he would use his drumming as a guide for a session drummer to flesh out. How great would it have been for his current band’s drummer, Donavan Hepburn, to work with Jeff? But... no chance as Jeff is a do-it-all-yourself at home musician now. By the way, Time Of Our Live references the big Wembley concert event, not Hyde Park.

Could have been a greater album if Jeff added more violins and cellos (but it would have been better if he brought Bev Back )

If you unseal the album the gatefold is amazing!!!!!!

Always enjoy your reviews on ELO\ JEFF albums and being an ELO fan myself at least at times I know where you're coming from don't agree with your view on the album but at least it's a good honest opinion thanks and have a good Xmas pal

Jeff is a song writing and producing genius but even though he has dne these last couple of albums to keep the creativity going i feel he lost a great chance with the band he has with him now to go for the full pomp and glory of classic elo .he still has it in him but I feel he has slightly put brakes on ..
