I think you're right. Away games with astros would probably see an uptick but overall I don't see it attracting casual/non-fans to actual non astro games when they just want to follow the drama.

The game is too long on TV.One reliever per inning, and a 25 second pitch clock would cut out least a half hour of nothing.Who has time for more than one 3 hour game weeknights? Someone with no life.Also the pitchers are getting so good at throwing 98, 99 with crazy downward movement that the umps better start calling balls on those pitches that are several inches below the knee giving the Pitcher too much the benefit of the doubt. This keeps up it's gonna be primarily routine grounders and strikeouts.

I don't think it lasts more than a month or 2, the interest boost. MLB is going to police every other team to the point where no one is going to want to get a 5-10 game suspension + fine, unless you wait until the 7th and have a designed "hitter" that goes out there, plunks Correa in the ribs and gets tossed. If you’re a real baseball fan how do you not acknowledge the deterioration of the product compared to the 90s. There’s literally only 3 outcomes in an at bat now a days. Where’s the strategy? Hit and runs, putting the balls in play etc. If you want baseball watch the cat and mouse game between the Florida Marlins and the Cleveland Indians in the 1997 World Series game 7. To me that’s real baseball.

The juiced ball, "pace of play" bs, the ridiculous launch-angled "HR or bust" offensive approach. The pitching changes like going to 3 batter minimum, the proposal to move the mound back 2 feet, etc are pure cancer. I like pitching duels. I like small ball. I like the NL. I'm already hanging by a thread as far as being able to tolerate the game as it is, and as a Cards fan if they bring the DH to the NL I'll never watch the game again. Manfred makes it seem like baseball should be a scoring affair, where pitching takes a back seat, and "fans" want non-stop action. Yet the most exciting games I've ever watched have been low scoring pitchers duels. They act as if people do not like watching an ace carve up a batting order. I just don't get it... People that have no attention span can go watch basketball or football if they cannot fathom a few seconds of quiet contemplation while the pitcher steps-off to try to slow down a hitter's rhythm. Baseball is special in that there are little games within the game, many of them mental, and MLB is trying to strip it down to HR Derby levels of action. I fail to see how this new game is appealing to anyone aside from the old fans that are hanging on hopping this mess will get sorted out. Pretty sad that I'm going to have to start finding a way to stream Korean games to get my baseball fix

MF Allen most of the things you named have nothing to do with manfred... hr or bust is the biggest reason for the deterioration of the sport and that has nothing to do with manfred. Games are significantly longer than at any point in baseball history with less action. It’s about action to me not scoring. Idc about a 10-9 game I care about a 4-3 game with lots of things happening. Pitchers take significantly longer between pitches how is that not annoying. Pitchers duels don’t happen because no one pitches longer than 5 innings. Pitchers batted .129 last year but I get why you want to keep the DH as an AL only thing.
