most of slayer solos sound like kerry just went: "fuck it ill just noodle my fingers somehow on the fretboard see what comes up" I kinda like that approach sometimes, you dont always need a berkeley music theory nerd telling you something does not fit into a certain scale or that some note is incorrect to a certain pattern or whatever. Especially for fast thrash metal the fuck it approach works pretty well
