@@gaylorde4607 America is made of same humans like you... they all once said good bye to their original countries and joined something new to create better place in this world. Despite all failures and issues they mostly achieved it even there's lot of to be done and what should get fixed.
“Volunteers”* (1970) was composed by guitarist Paul Kantner and vocalist Marty Balin. The piece was a call to take a stand against the US government and the Vietnam War. In a 1993 interview, Balin explained: “It became political but it didn’t start out that way. I had woken up to the sound of garbage cans crashing outside the mansion and looked out, and there was this Volunteers of America truck, so I wrote that down and gave it to Paul and we wrote the song. BANG. People put all kinds of meaning into it.” The LP “Volunteers” (1970) was the last album the band recorded before major personnel changes altered their distinctive psychedelic rock sound. This was issued as a single, but never charted. The LP, though, was a relative success for the group. A big part of the San Francisco protest scene in the ‘60s, Jefferson Airplane played a spirited version of “Volunteers” at the Woodstock Festival six months before the tune came out. The performance is included on the original soundtrack and in the documentary film “Woodstock” (1970). Tommy Hilfiger used this in a commercial television advertisement campaign intended for the US market. 💚🎶💜 * The Walt Disney Company employees who are sent to do public service are called “VOLUNT-EARS”‼️
Look, the question I’ve been asking for years, ever since I first got this album, is just WHICH band member is who on the album cover. The only one I can guess is that Paul is the one wearing the lampshade and I’m not even sure about that. Anyone who knows this, please respond. 37 years is a longtime to wait. Milo Martin.
@@megaxenu753 no they didn't? The soviet union fell decades after the war and it certainly wasn't because of the Vietnam War. Moreover communism remained in Vietnam after the war and it is a socialist nation today so yeah they died for a pointless cause.
@@disfatbidge9216 If they hadn't of invaded Vietnam the Soviets wouldn't have taken them as a serious threat. More over countries like Burma and Thailand would have probably fallen to Communism. They didn't die pointlessly.
