Jekyll is a pretty awesome place. I've came here since I was little because we have family from here in Brunswick so we have always have came down for reunions and such, so I know the islands real well. It has so much to offer with all of it's great history, plus the fishing is GREAT!! The catfish trip me out too, but they are all over the GA, AL, and FL coast. The sail cats are pretty good to eat, to me they taste just like a channel cat and are super good fried..lol..Whiting are also one of my favorites to eat, they are one of the species I love to target down here along with flounder and trout. If you get a chance y'all should come down and check out the islands, between Jekyll and Saint Simons there is tons of fun things to do and see, and they are right next to each other. If you ever come this way and want to get together let me know, I love getting to fish and hang out with people, the kiddo's would have a blast there too, mine always do, there are lots of stuff on the islands for them as well..lol..Randy y'all be safe and God Bless you too!! Yes it was so cool to meet up with Brian, he's a great guy and fun to fish with! The sail cats on the coast are pretty good to eat, they taste like channel cats when they are fried. I love getting to meet people on here, it's such a good platform for that, and so cool to be able to meet people from all over that share the same intrest as we do. Man I love the A10s too, I have been fortunate enough to work with those guys on this plane and I can tell you it is one bad dude! Probably one of my favorites out of all that I have worked on! Man I bet you had some fun in the AF, I hear all kinds of awesome stories from my Friends around here that are in it now. I would watch the beach for deeper holes and riptide cuts. It’s where the wave action is almost nonexistent but around the outside is normal waves. That’s where you will find the fish. It’s a natural ambush zone for the larger fish to get at the baitfish. I love using small pieces of cut up fresh shrimp and FishBites combo, or cut pieces of finger mullet if you can get them.
