This has been my top question for the past 6 weeks, so I wanted to address the proper cleaning and upkeep on the Iwata Eclipse. Hope this helps, even if this isn't the exact gun you have. I hope to add a Badger and a Paasche airbrush into my line-up in the next year, so I can give better tutorials for those of you that use other brands. I have used Master Airbrushes (when I started out, and not all models apply to this statement), but in my opinion they are not very good, and I can't recommend what I don't believe in.
As always thanks for watching. Please feel free to ask questions or leave comments below!

I'm trying to catch up on the vids. They took my leg 5 weeks ago. Diabetes got me after a 4 year fight but happy to say everything with me is back to normal and started the prosthetic process but I'm still painting. Can't keep me down. Anyway I gotta move on I have a few more to watch. Let It Flow.

I just make sure my Airbrush is clean everytime after I use it for the day and I've never had any problems with it sputtering or not spraying correctly. Routine cleaning after you use it and you'll never have problems.

to help protect the needle from damage, you might want to pull your needle first and insert it last. it's too easy to damage a needle tip by putting the cap on the needle than the needle into the cap.

Jekll If you get some type of puddling in the cone of the brush. Is it a paint problem or dirty brush? Or could it be the pressure is too low? I have not got my new brush setup with the compressor yet. I’m still using the $60 rechargeable/ built in compressor one. And I’m getting a little puddling in the cone. Then I get some splatter because if it. I completely cleaned the brush out. It did have some paint on the needle and is clean now. However, I’m thinking since this brush is a low pressure brash because of the built in compressor. It needs thin paint. What’s your thoughts? I’m sure I’m going to be blown away with the eclipse and badger brushes I just received. Waiting on hose adapters for them with disconnects.

I know this is 2 yr old video and you are in the middle of a move, but I am new so don't smack me too hard. I have yet to buy an airbrush and probably won't for a month or so. I realize you get what you pay for and the term buy once cry once. If you was starting new, like me, would you jump straight to the Eclipse or maybe start with the Neo? I still need a small compressor too since my big shop compressor for woodworking and power tools is like a sledgehammer doing the work of a finish hammer.

i rather use the soft tooth style cleaner i just think the metal cleaner will scratch inside the tip now you really got a problem
@jonholzworth4463
@jonholzworth4463 8 месяцев назад
Great video. But, you were very incorrect regarding similar metals vs. different metals in the threads. Different metals will have a galvanic reaction. You actually want to avoid bringing different metals into contact with one another. The reason for the brass threads is because brass is a softer metal. This allows you to get a better seal when tightening the threads. When using two fittings made of a hard metal you need to use a thread sealant. When one of your fittings is brass and the other is a hard metal like steel, you do not need a thread sealant.

I can't understand why you used alcohol to clean your needle before using the airbrush cleaner fluid. I am also wondering why you didn't first soak the nozzle in cleaner for a few minutes before using your small brush and alcohol. In addition, inserting a different sized needle into the nozzle is never a good idea, as it could potentially scrape the inside of the nozzle, widening or distorting it. Why take that risk?
@Jekyll424
@Jekyll424 5 лет назад
Great thoughts. As far as alcohol goes, it really dissolves clogs quickly. I will take your advice to heart regarding the needle though. Thanks!

Jekyll424 true enough. I suggest people learning about airbrush cleaning, look at the manufacturer’s instructions and then watch some more RU-vid’s. I’m sure there’s some good tips here. Another thing is a little thread is good for cleaning the nozzle.

Definitely would not be mechanically scapining the inside of the nozzle especially with steel against brass. This is not a good way to clean your airbrush, do yourself a favor and watch other videos and you'll see much better methods.

I think cleaners and reducers are a waste of money lol. Get some of that household cleaner "Fantastic " and mix it at 25% and add 75% water. Works as a cleaner AND reducer. Never had a problem with it. Also extended dry time , less dry tip. Great Video. Thanx
