The best part about this song is that the lyrics are easy to follow as identifiable cat traits and then Old Deuteronomy comes out of nowhere and goes "Do you know how to go to the Heaviside Layer?????" and throws us all for a loop.

I remember being so obsessed with the Cats musical as a kid. I would jump over pillows making cat noises and singing Jellicle cats.

This specific version of CATS is one of my favorite things in the world. That being said, I would love to see the bloopers and outtakes of this particular version.

I love how well the costume and makeup crew distinguished the Kittens versus the adult cats. Through context of the songs and choreo you could tell but the visuals just add an amazing layer to it

The make-up is just amazing. The new movie was a disappointment in a lot of ways but going with the human faces was so boring. Munkustrap in the movie hardly stands out from the other cats. Here he's just magnificent with his beautiful mane of fur and his look presents an air of authority.

I think the boot at 4:04 is hilarrious. Obviously a human threw it to shut these noisy cats up.

Last time I was this early, Grizzabella was young.

Saw this live on tour in 1998, my mom and grandma weren't fans, but this is what introduced me to ALW. I will always love this show, moreso for the dancing (as a dancer), but of course for the music as well. This absolutely trumps the shite that is 2019s version.

I assigned my most of my friends a cat from cats the musical. The two rambunctiously mad ones are Mungojerri and Rumpleteazer, the one with what looks like a mane and is basically the rpg powerhouse of the group but extremely chaotic and quiet is Macavity, and I am Mr. Mistoffelees because I love him and would definitely be a mage type character who is shy and definitely gay

I was today years old when I just found out the 1998 version is actually from 1988… I thought it was a remastered version from the past past… mind you I’ve been watching this film since I was a baby and I’ve it live as well.. I watch at least once a month.. I am so mind blown. 😂😂😂
