This level of denial tells me is around 20-21, take into account that tech used to spread a bit slower and the migration used be less brusque, like GoW 2 still coming to the PS2 or all those cross-gen releases PS3/4 Xbox 360/One. Same with most stuff. But she Is a lolibaba at heart.
You guys need to understand that us lowly poor people don't buy consoles the day they come out 🙃 We wait 5 years until the next console drops and the old one goes on sale so not always. Just for example I bought my PS3 in 2011 lol. Before then it was all PS2.
She shouldn't feel old yet! My first console was Atari 2600, I had my dad's hand me down 8 Track player at one point (tbf the format was already dead), I remember He-man/She-ra/G.I. Joe/Transformers/Voltron/The Smurfs on Saturday mornings, I remember Laser Disk players (again, they were a dead format), We had a HUGE 600lb console TV/Record Player/8 Track player what was made of wood, my dad drove one of those wood panel stationwagons, and I still don't feel all that old yet!
Ah my 1st console is SNES, still remember the ritual to kept blowing the cartridges if the game took a pong time to detect. Still remember when Walkman player need CD. And my favorite show is Xena The Warrior Princess, Hercules, Ultraman Tiga and Kamen Rider Black. Jelly is much younger than me lmao
Sounds like you and @Nahan_Boker94 are both in my age range. I had similar experiences, except we were too poor for consoles but my grandma did pickup things from garage sales for me, so had a few Game&Watches and Tiger handhelds (pos as they were). and a few games on our converted NEC PC-98. But all my tv/shows experiences were the same (but add Ninja turtles ronin warriors and thunderccats to the list), and my music was cassette tapes and DACs, got a Discman sometime later.
My first handheld was the Nintendo DSI. Then a few years later I managed to save enough birthday money for an iPod 4. That was the golden age of the App Store!
Honestly, am I the only one suspecting she might be from Europe's more poor countries? I live in Hungary and technology sometimes took a while to arrive, especially due to living in a village. It would explain her family's economical situation and the fact that she's likely still young yet have played these kind of games. Though the timing of her stream is another questionable thing, like where I live, she starts her streams at 2 AM which sounds kinda early for school ending.
okay... but I actually feel her though. Also started with the DS, first self-bought console was a 3DS, and I still grew up listening to tapes and watching some movies on VHS simply because my parents weren't that well off so they stayed with the older mediums often... we never even really had BluRay! And yet I'm not even really in my mid 20s...
