Totally takes me back to Fun house memories. Yes I agree, Just Begun and this Mexican Jelly Bean jam; damn the best times. People would dance their asses off all night. So thankful and blessed I and my friends and family got to experience the Fun House days. Blessed times. Jelly Bean was one of the best DJ's out there.
Where was the fun house ? Meaning what part of NY? Bronx? I remember going to the winter music conference around 99 and all the best mostly house djs were in Miami and having big events and parties each night. I went to one early to hear jellybean dj and maybe we got there early, but there was only a few ppl. there and only stayed for 20 mins. and looked for another party. I kinda felt bad bc most of the ppl. going to the conference didn’t know Jellybean was on me of the first to start this djing culture.
These were the best tunes every. The 80's were known for the freestyle genre, going to clubs, dancing until your feet bled and doing it all over again the next weekend. If only we can go back into time!❤
Chico Fernandez Sleepin' on his gun Dreams of Santa Ana Fighting in the sun The drums so loud from outside Makes it hard to dream A bruise fallin' hard and fast Makes it all seem real Mornin' come mornin' A-Chico gotta have his share Mornin', sad mornin' Said he must be there Mornin', sad mornin' Well, I laughed and I cried And I cry, cry, cry, cry, cried Mornin', sad mornin' Mexican Señorita's pining Chico, come on home Santa Ana's losing You'll be first to go Sam Houston's laughing Davy Crockett too When Ana takes The Alamo The first to go is you Mornin', come mornin' A-Chico gotta have his share Mornin', sad mornin' Heaven will be there Mornin', sad mornin' Well, I laughed and aloud Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Mexican Ha ha ha ha ha Mexican Ha ha ha ha ha Mexican Ha ha ha ha ha
Omg such great memories so proud to be Mexican born and raised in Brooklyn clubbing Never knew that this was called by Mexican ❤ let's go my people Love to Love
No matter where you are in life today, when you hear this tracks, you're right back in the 80s seeing yourself jamming to these tunes. Popping the cassette in to record freestyle Friday nights on the radio. Make.sure to hit the pause button for the commercials 🤣🤣
Lol same here. Was forever searching for the song ‘Morning’ haha. Was amazed (but not surprised) that it was produced by Jellybean. Then more amazed to find the original by the group Babe Ruth. Classic cut!
This track is a brilliant example of how to do a remake properly. Update the technology, throw in a few new stylistic elements and arrangements, but otherwise stay remarkably faithful to the original. I think both this and the original versions are awesome.
Anyone who knew me, knew this was my song!!! I would turn the dance floor out with this song....In fact, my children always try to play this song in any event that is jamming, just to see me move.
SammyMiami just got to dance in this music man she broke my fucking mind I'll tell you why she had a nice black mini skirt by sure she smell good I thought there that night and I'll tell you why she was Puerto Rican I'll tell you one again and nothing but a good piece of ass Puerto Rican Power in those things and I say right on Puerto Ricans right on
Wepa... The Funhouse ,Roseland , Pallaidium, Latin Quarters , The Fever , Devil's Nest , La Mirage , First Class ....all the hot clubs in N.Y.C / all the skating rinks . Loved this era and had a great time dancing for a few artists .

Yep Nancy those were the dayz . I'm glad to have live in NYC during my robust younger years and to be part of a generation of great music era and times.
The only line I remembered from this classic was, Chico Fernandez sleeping on his gun.. I'm a child of the 80s and break dancing was our thing. I searched for it from time to time over the years.... I found it today in September 2021.
You guys are probably speaking of the babe Ruth version. At least you should be. Many of the covers and iterations are good, but babe Ruth's was the one. Just an opinion btw. Probably.
Back in the Bronx this was the last song before they close down the night club so everyone got up and dancing their final fun back in the 80’s it was a awesome time to be dancing freestyle or Hip Hop or the Hustle or Salsa it was all good with this awesome beautiful song.!!!🇵🇷🔥🇵🇷🔥🇵🇷
BrickCity, Newark NJ too..this was the jam, i use to love to watch the guys breakdancing (on a cardboard box) back in the day...thanks for posting this song :)
Señorita pining Chico come on home Santa Ana's losing You'll be first to go Sam Houston's laughing David Crockett too When Ana takes The Alamo The first to go is you
@@gypsydancer6477 ...lol 😆you're absolutely right!! But a lot of times when they would play these great songs I would still hustle with my friends..wow great times!!❤
@thomas brunn Jellybean Benitez is a Puerto Rican Djay who did the remix for this song (he also was dating and discovered Madonna) which was originally performed by Babe Ruth, keep your racist ass off this thread. Long live Puerto Ricans who were the best break dancers back in the day (New York city breake rs, Rock Steady crew), and peace to our Chicano brothers. All you punk ass racists keep your mouths shut!!!
@thomas brunn I DON'T KNOW WHAT RACE YOU ARE, AND IT DOESN'T MATTER. DO YOU KNOW IVE HAD FRIENDS THAT WERE MEMBERS OF A WHITE SUPREMACIST GROUP. JUST I RESPECT WHAT THEY BELIEVE. ME I KNOW WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO BE DISCRIMINATED. I CAN PASS FOR DIFFERENT NATIONALITIES. PEOPLE ARE LIKE A WEIGHT SCALE. GOOD ON ONE SIDE AND BAD ON THE OTHER. THINGS ARE CHANGING FAST IN THIS WORLD, ESPECIALLY IN OUR COUNTRY. IT'S ASHAME. PRESIDENT TRUMP MOTTO IS MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. I AGREE. WE HAVE TO MAKE OUR COUNTRY GREAT, WHY? CAUSE IT'S THE ONLY ONE WE HAVE. HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHITE SUPREMACISI. IT HAS TO DO WITH BEING AN AMERICAN. KENNEDY SAID ASK NOT WHAT YOUR COUNTRY CAN DO FOR YOU, BUT WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR COUNTRY. WAS THAT A RACIST STATEMENT?
Absolutely, James!! "Uncle Charlie's" club off Bird Road and US 1 was the hot spot in Miami before Cheers came along. But this song was in heavy rotation at Uncle Charlie's. Ohhhhh, such GREAT TIMES!!!
Jeffrey Ealy this August 11 jellybean will be having is nyc boat ride and I heard the lead singer is the invited guest! I've got my ticket ! The group is Babe Ruth
Yo this joint right here was the Roxy's and the Fun house Disco anthem and Red Zone....I used to Pop and Lock my ass off to this Jelly Bean Benitez Smash......The World used to play this alot too..This is a B Boy Classic...Listen I got to tell you new dance fans, this era of freestyle music you are listening too was golden, pretty much you guys missed out on alot of good stuff but fortunately you have You Tube where you can research what it was like then.....
Ok, I really miss those days. The 80's were the best. I remember dancing this song in the clubs. This is original. Too bad they don't make music like this no more. Glad to have it on youtube.
My boy Carlos from Corona, Queens had a 98.7 Kiss Master Mix tape that he had this joint on. I use to blow up my apartment building in Jacksonville, Fla. blasting this joint.
I used to attend Flushing High / hung out with friends from Corona Queens . I also remember I used to go party at a place up in Flushing on a Friday once in a while .
this song bring s back memories it like it takes me back to when i was in high school again when i here it the clubs i went to where i hung out at new york city bigupps
@@edlore4948 No one said anything about the music being Puerto Rican, or what the ethnicity of the person is that wrote it. The point made was that it still plays in Mexican hoods throughout Chicago. The point you're TRYING to make is completely irrelevant to the conversation.
@@MrJUANDIEGO1989 he’s An old school PR i bet. I heard PR people use to hate Mexicans with a passion in the 80s and 90s. I saw that hate a little bit in the 2000s
This is to those who grew up in New York City in the 80's We've all had great times at the big night clubs we reserved those outing for special times. But the 80's wouldn't be the 80's without the local friendly Night Clubs e.g. The famous Herpes Triangle LOL (Riddlers for 1), The Devil's Nest (Treamont & Webster Ave), Pepper N Salt (University & 167th St) and what really made the 80's the best was our Infamous HOUSE PARTIES!!!!
I was only 2 years old when this song first came out but this is the type of music I like to listen to. I may have been born too late to enjoy it when it first came out but I am a fan.
Yeap back to the 80s! And proud to heard this before from what is REALLY A DJ!! How smith he was with the turntables!!!! Nowadays is sad that even I can say I'm a" dj" ! Anyone with an I pad and all prerecorded music, and calling then self djs! They not !! This was the real thing !! Keep on going JB!!!!
I didn't even know there was another version. Now I heard them both but I still think this one is by far the better one. Nostalgia has nothing to do with it.
