It's amazing the impression Jem and the Holograms made on me. Some 25 years later, I can STILL sing along with the songs I had on tape. Having had more or less all the dolls, which came with a cassette tape with 3 songs each, that made my collection of songs quite extensive. And I played those tapes until they were close to dying. As a result, those songs must have burned into my brain, haha! :-) Awesome stuff, thank you so much for uploading!
i feel like i was am the only 16 year old that has heard of this show because majority of the viewers this show got is now somewhere in their 30s to 40s, maybe even 50s, then theres me, LOL.
I grew to watching this lol I'm 18 and I'm assuming your about 22 now I felt the same way growing up but Jem was truly a Gem so I didn't mind not having to share the joy.
i love the holograms versions of Jem's dress, (TOO BAD HASBRO NEVER RELEASED THEM) the cartoonists were pretty creative in making the holograms wear VARIATIONS of Jem's dress :-)
I remember recording this song using a cassette player by placing it next to the tv's stereo with my mum''s voice in the background yelling me to turn down the volume lol
Lol So, glitter and gold causes Jem to have seizure like fits (0:17), and the girls to mini-monkey (0:49). Gawd, what were we thinking XD. Still, those voice actresses/singers RAWKED.

@lovesmovies477 actually, Christy Marx is the creator of the show and wrote more than a third of the episodes of the series, so check yourself before you wreck yourself. She's responsible for all of the characters personal histories and everything, which I personally think is a great accomplishment.
I had the "Glitter and Gold" Jem and I remember always rubbing my face on that gold lame trimmed furry thing, but don't remember ever letting Jem wear it lol
Actually it's not a "high C" I think. It didn't seem right to me because I can sing a high C and I can't sing whatever Jem's singing. I don't have a piano on me but I listened to a range of notes from a Kristin Chenoweth vid, caught the C6 she belted (high C), hummed that constantly to myself until I could get to this video, and sure enough, it's the same note, but exactly an octave higher. It's a C7 and it's officially in the whistle register.
This song was indeed the most awesome of the entire series. Too bad they had to use it in the commercial for the Glitter & Gold Jem toys...that commercial sucked.
