Nikki, Jennie was the first trainee, Lisa came to South Korea when she was 14. Lisa did not know the language and Jennie was the only one that spoke English. Jennie studied in New Zealand and helped Lisa the first couple of years. Jisoo came later and helped Lisa with Korean, Rose came last and since she is almost close in age with Lisa they are the maknae (younger siblings) and they have a sister connection. I suggest you watch a guide to Blackpink, their Netflix documentary and Blackpink ships in a nutshell. Each ship gives different vibes and I'm a fan of all, especially Jenlisa. Chealisa and Jensoo are the official pairing by yg company and that's why they make appearance and vlives in that manner. Also why the bond between those duos seem stronger.

I don't want to sound like a delusional fan lol because I do understand that they're more than likely just close friends and view each other as family, BUT I do have genuine questions at times when it comes to their interactions...or really, lack of at times. The thing that gets me (aside from their incredible chemistry) is the fact that if it's all *just* fanservice, then why don't they do more of it since it is a popular ship as well? Like Chaelisa and Jensoo for example is really popular and we get plenty of that and everyone seems to be fine with it and love it, but whenever it's Jenlisa, we hardly get anything. A picture of just the two together is rare and when it does happen, it's usually a cause of excitement for fans lol. I also think that's why a lot of fans are enticed by Jenlisa, because you will always want more of something that isn't as abundant as the rest. Then there's the whole "YG is restricting them and their interactions" and I'm just like well, that makes it more suspicious then if that is true! Because if there's nothing to hide and they're just close friends, why the need to "restrict their interactions"?? Be like Chaelisa and Jensoo then! Give more of it to capitalize on that popularity of the ship LOL other groups have done it with say subunits 🤷♀️. Another thing is how with other pairings of the group (i.e Jennie and Rosé - Chaennie, Rosé and Jisoo - Chaesoo, Lisa and Jisoo - Lisoo), even though we don't get as much of those, we do still get those pairings at times and it's especially more than Jenlisa. In the 7 years the girls have been together publicly as BLACKPINK, I've never seen an actual vlive or whatever of just Jenlisa. It's OT4 or a pairing of all the other ships BUT Jenlisa, and stuff like that specifically makes me go 🤔 I love all the girls and all the pairings but man, a part of me can't help but have a really soft spot for Jenlisa. And it's mainly because for me, there's not enough of it. It's like I'm starved for it! I don't count concerts because usually that's when they do do "fanservice" on stage. I want more interaction between the two outside of concerts, so when I see moments like this carpool karaoke, I can't help but go 😍😍

They are definitely more free to be themselves in the US than Korea. Their subunit just came out with a mini album and it is said that they did not take part in the writing of the lyrics but they did take part making a concept for the videos and it shows.
Jennie and Lisa were the first to join the company.. they trained for 5/6 years. Then came Jisoo and lastly Rosé (she was a trainee for 4 years). It's been 7 years since they debuted officially so they've all been together for 10/11 years. To understand better how Blackpink was created and a little bit of their background I highly recommend the Netflix's documentary "Light Up The Sky". I first watched the doc by my friend recommendation before ever listening to any kpop ever and I just fell in love with them and they were my gateway to this crazy industry. This film is really worth it.
Not sure if anyone else explained, but in a lot of the shipping JenLisa channels, it is explained and demonstrated that when Jennie is jealous of the attention that Lisa pays anyone else or anyone gets too touchy with Lisa her face almost instantly changes and she does the hair flip.
To answer a few questions u asked 1) jennie trained for 6 years , lisa 5 , rosé and jisoo 4 2) they have known each other for over 10 years and according to them they lived together for almost 10 years . 3) her name is rosé (like the wine) not rose , pronounced ro-sey . 4)No rosé was not the first one lisa met , but out of everyone (not just the 3 girls) lisa was the first one rosé met when she came to the company they met in the elevator and out of all the members those 2 are the closest . They said they could relate to each other the most since they were the same age and both were away from home rosé came from australia (she’s korean but was born in nz and raised in aus and her whole life was there) and lisa is thai and so rosie said when she misses home she would just look at lisa and be fine and that they were always together even on their days off (1 day every 2 weeks) they would wear matching outfits and go out together and that even lisa at one point starded having an aussie accent bcz of how much time they spent together and that they accidently started acting and talking like each other . All 4 of them are very close and they said that during their trainee days out of all ppl there it was always the four of them they just clicked . u should check out their netflix documentary to know all about them. Black Pink debut 2016 and the company is YG entertainment, they trained together for 5/6 before debut and they lived together in the same house at that time. Jisoo 95’ born and raised in South Korea. Jennie 96’ born and raised in South Korea but at the age of 10 she moved to New Zealand for 5yrs until she returned to SK to enter the YG company. Rosé 97’ born in New Zealand but at the age of 6 her family moved to Australia. Lisa 97’ born and raised in Thailand and at the age of 14 she moved to SK because she want to be a k-pop singer. I read on Twitter where someone that they aren’t able to be as free back home. They said in Indonesia they could go to jail if reported being in a same sex relationship. Now I don’t know if it’s the same in Thailand but the way they typed it it seemed that way. I wish I would of saved it so I could go back and ask for clarification.
