While it's a really nice gesture - Don't buy a mop!!! It's your workplaces responsibility to ensure they have all the proper cleaning equipment. You shouldn't be spending your paycheck on equipping the place with things they should already have. I'm sure they make enough money to afford a mop and a few hairnets. They're not a charity. Explain to the manager what happened with the sauce and how it took you considerably longer to clean the mess with towels than it would have a mop

You handled that really well. One of my fears is crying in public and I’m a huge cryer. Also I agree with the people who are saying don’t buy stuff for your workplace. They should have that stuff.

How weird for a food place not to have a mop. I worked at Bath & Body Works for 6 years and we had to mop every single day... Lol.

This is what life is all about, facing the difficulties and growing as a person. This was a formative experience based on the amount of swearing that it took to describe it.

I'm so glad that you have been so triumphant!! you really are a fighter! I kinda wanna see a jenn covered in pizza dough powder, that sounds adorable. my other thought about this whole pizza parlor shenanigans is....... this seems like a huge paradigm shift in your life for something as simple as having some backorders from your etsy business. but I guess this type of snowball effect is the definition of life itself----and anyway sounds like new life experiences are flowing in

Lol it is so anything but an adorable sight -- I come home with my clothes totally wiped out on the daily and realize I must've been a sight to look at yesterday since I made a stop at the grocery store on the way home and know I was covered literally head to toe in the stuff, LOL. I was so past overtired though, I kiiiiinda didn't care what anyone may have thought, haha. If it were just 'some Etsy orders', it wouldn't have necessitated such a shift, but it was literally over a hundred orders that still need to be refunded. So...I kinda had no choice but to do something since if I had no real money coming in, Etsy's going to pull it as cases are opened either way, and if my account defaulted into the red hard enough to overdraft, it'd kinda be game over for money coming in from anywhere else, like RU-vid or Ebay or anywhere, since there'd be no bank account for it to go *to*. So trying to scramble and scrape together funds online wasn't going to cut it for that much money needed as quickly as frankly, I'm still needing it (I managed to at least slow the snowball, but I'm still working my way through it). There's definitely something to be said for having a true 'real' income though -- because once all the Etsy debts are 100% paid off, that's a good amount of money each month I'm going to have coming in! I'd kinda like to keep that going, haha. I'm sure as I settle in further I'll get more used to working these hours and be less exhausted after the shifts and just generally have more free time all around than I did when I was so heavily relying on Etsy for the biggest chunk of my income, which honestly, there've been so many points where there's just no time to do anything, ever, since all my time is going to those orders and even then, it's still not enough even for that, much less anything else. I'm honestly now looking forward to having that kind of time available once all the dust settles, so to speak. It's a weird thing, since if you'd said to me a month ago that I'd actually be enjoying this, I'd of thought you were crazy, and the thought of a job outside the home would've seen way too scary and impossible, but it's not so bad! Even with a rough day here or there, ultimately it's not so bad. I just wish I'd been brave enough to take this plunge a lot earlier now! But, everything happens for a reason, and I suppose the Etsy situation had to happen to get me mentally and emotionally ready to not only do this, but to more importantly WANT to do this. Granted, a pizza place wouldn't have been my first choice, but even so, it's kinda fun in a weird way :) And if just running around making pizzas all day is all I've gotta do to make that kind of money, I'm surprisingly okay with this, haha. Especially since it pays a bit better than most of the other places I was applying at too. Plus, there's the potential for upward job growth here. As someone who never went to college, I honestly figured the best I'd ever have available to me thru 'traditional job' means would be entry level minimum wage for life. Seeing an actual clear path here to climb the ladder, so to speak, and that it apparently doesn't take anywhere near as long as I would've thought to do it...? That is such a hopeful feeling for me. I feel like I'm finally on the path to bettering myself, albeit in a super unexpected way -- but so goes life. :) Definitely lots of new life experiences are coming in real quick!

i was working at a sandwich franchise... not for very long though 🤣🤣... and one customer wanted meat balls... and i've never did a meatball sandwhich and i have never used that microwave machine/ oven thing either and was not introduced to it either.... and i just asked what i should program it.. and it was like only 3 customers but this amateur hole, and that means the leading staff, was soooo stressed out because of it... 3 customers.... so i just got yelled at "that i definitely need to shush it!!"... like... what?!!... i don't know what to set this microwave thing so i'm asking!!... no response just that glory .. instructing wannabe pitty person was totally pissed off!!! 🤣🤣🤣 and then i was just well ok... let's just try ... anything... and i felt so bad for the teenage girl that ordered it because i had no clue and no one told me and no one wanted to tell me 🤣🤣🤣 and it felt like they were in there a friggin eternity and i was so unsure 😅😅😅 i just grabbed a mob after the masses of customers (in numbers 3) got their order and pretended to clean the customer room, like not the best way when there are customers eating but it were just the two girls and i felt so bad because of these meat balls 😅😅😩 so i pretended to wipe the floor and when i got near the two i asked if everything was all right... and they were just polite and said yes and nodded and i felt soo bad 🤣🤣🤣 like after that i've talked to another staff member and she was like well actually we cut them into half and i don't think that they were in there long enough 😅😅😅 🤣🤣🤣🤣 poor girl 😅😅🤣🤣🤣 i am still sorry 😅😅🤣

Oh man!! Yeah, that would be the worst. Hopefully it wasn't so undercooked to where she got sick or anything! But at least you got someone to explain it after the fact so you knew for future reference. The pretending to clean thing, deeeeefinitely feel you there and I have definitely defaulted into cleaning/restocking mode more than once just to get out of having to deal with customers in a particular moment to buy myself a little extra time to mentally reset, LOL. I'm still scared to death of the oven -- I haven't had to do that yet and am hoping maybe I can weasel my way out of that one (it seems like there's only a few people there who really work the oven, so maybe it's not totally mandatory -- like yes, everyone has to be trained to learn *how* it works, but I think they only stick the people on there they know can really handle it). Like I just foresee so damn many ways that one could go wrong and it scares me to death. But I may have a legit enough excuse out of it -- it's an open flame oven, and I have asthma. To be fair, even just sweeping near that oven, I can feel my throat tightening a little from the bit of smoke there, so it would legitimately be detrimental to me to have to work a full shift on the oven. I mentioned this thought to one of my coworkers and she said that sounded like a reason that I could probably get out of having to be deployed on the oven for. So at least there's that, haha. I also don't see them sticking someone in charge of taking fully cooked pizzas out of the oven on a long paddle and having to land them in the boxes and trust them not to drop them on the floor when I, the clumsyass that I am, can't even drive the trolley without running it into things because my aim is so bad >_>

@@BeatleBabe i think communication is the most important part... and when you feel stressed out or the tone is too much for you or the temperature of the dough is not right, just say it 💚
