Season 2 left Jenna in an interesting position with Penn's character. She chats with staff about how she prepared for the role that has moved her career in a much more mature direction. Jenna Ortega was born in Coachella Valley and grew up in a Mexican and Puerto Rican family. She became interested in acting around the age of six and even helped her mom in finding her an agent. By the age of eight she started appearing in various TV shows such as “Rob” and “CSI: NY.” She made her big screen debuted in “Iron Man 3” and “Insidious: Chapter 2”. Jenna starred in recurring roles in “Rake” and as Young Jane in “Jane the Virgin.” She even credits Gina Rodriguez as one of her biggest influences. Jenna’s big breakout role was from 2016 to 2018 as Harley Diaz in Disney Channels sitcom, “Stuck in the Middle”, which got her a nomination for Imagen Award for her performance. In 2017 she starred in Jacob Sartorious’s music video “Chapstick”, playing his love interest. Jenna recently starred in Netflix’s hit, “You” as Ellie Alves.
