(Spoilers in this post) Being completely honest, in Dexter, Carpenter put on the greatest performance I have ever seen from any actor or actress in my life. No book, movie, or TV show has ever made me feel closer to a fictional character than I did to Debra Morgan. If there was one person I knew I was always rooting for during that show it was Deb, and I just can't believe how well Carpenter made her come alive. When an actress' performance can actually make you care about a character that isn't real to the point that you tear up during their death, that's how you know they've done a great job. Thank you, Jennifer.

She really was phenomenal. I don't remember which episode it was in but there was one with a think a drug dealer or relative of a drug dealer where something happened and she freaked out and just started bawling that was just so ridiculously authentic. Almost nobody I've ever seen in anything has done something like that so well.

Agree she was awesome and best character by far Dexter wasnt even close,they fucked up the ending so hard if there was one character who should have had happy ending it was her.Showtime interfered with ending,they butchered Dexter series and considering what they did to some other good shows i am never watching their shit again.

Love her so much. She REALLY needs an Emmy already. They better freaking give her one (that AND a Golden Globe!) for the last season of Dexter. I thought she deserved one in season 4 for the phenomenal acting job she did especially regarding the death of Lundy... yet she didn't even get nominated! What is wrong with these people?!

I could not agree with this comment any more. I can't think of a more intensive scene in all my years of television watching than the shooting of LaGuerta. There's certainly a huge wrongdoing for her not to have at least two Emmys on her mantle

here is what I like about opinion: it is just your opinion. Of course, everyone's opinion is based on something but mine was based on the 2015 tv series Limitless. She acted great in that, hence, I personally think she should work more harder to be a much renowned actress. If she is doing that, good for her. If she is not, it's up to her too. It's her choice but I would love to see any movies or tv series that she had a role in it, when I have my free time of course.

She is the most talented actress I have ever seen, by far. When I saw Dexter, her acting reminded me of Andre Braugher's Frank Pembleton in "Homicide". Just search Pembleton in the box. I completely cried my whole heart and soul out while watching the Dexter series finale, season 8, episode 12, titled "Remember The Monsters"? I never realized what a great show this was until now, I watched every season, on Showtime On Demand, I wished it could have ended another way for the characters Debbie, Dexter, Harrison, and Hannah. I would love to see the main characters of Dexter together in another series or movie.

J. Carpenter is basically Debra Morgan in real life as well. Same character same everything. She's just natural for that type of role. Fun fact : Her and Michael C. Hall (Dexter) were married 2 years before the season finale and it lasted about 2 years total. so 2008 to 2010?

She is the most unique woman in so many ways. She has the most unique magnetism....she is far removed from the rest of the pack in Hollywood. Her acting is beyond anything anyone is putting out there.......her performance in The Exorcism of Emily Rose was astonishing and it's the single most unsettling movie I've ever seen. She never appears to be deliberate with any of her techniques in front of the camera......so i doubt if shes a method actor. She's kinda like the person who gets overlooked with safe, easy movies but gets called up to do the ones that are hard, difficult and complex. She is just simply and utterly outstanding.
