When you a great talent but not given the support you need. Her voice is one of the greatest. She grew up in Houston and truly loved here in Houston. It was nice seeing Phylicia Rashad and Debbie Allen two sisters who grew up in Houston wishing Jennifer a Happy Birthday. Jennifer is the daughter of the Late Rev. O.L. Holliday who died one year after her debut in Dreamgirls. Her father was very well known across the USA while Pastoring in Houston and later Kansas CIty....
I don’t think people knew she had done a concert! I’m just finding this myself. I don’t think it was promoted. I’m sure the program and this video would definitely have had more views. What a treat, it was her birthday and she gave us a gift. 😊
What's happening when chills go over my body??? This lady effortlessly hits high notes that actually send chills over me. THE original JENNIFER.....No one can hold a candle to this girl vocally.
Excellent! It's unbelievable that her voice is still so powerful and with all the emotions. This performance should be Grammy or Emmy Winning! It should be released in DVD or streaming platforms. I'm happy to pay to watch.
I'm just learning of this 60th Birthday event of this beloved LEGEND!!!! She was in excellent VOICE. The technique and skill of a true professional. It took me back to the time I purchased her vinyl single "I AM LOVE" as a kid. She's always been one of my very favorite artists. Thanks so much for sharing your incredible gift!!!!
My God you can can see all the pain and passion and true feelings she really puts into her songs and the singing voice that comes from deep within her. I've never seen such a presence in a singer before in my life. She's a special star that's is forsure. There will only ever be one woman like her on this earth ever. I hope to watch her for many more decades to come
Pinkie Holliday has been awesome forever. We were in the same homeroom class at Cullen Jr High School in Houston, Texas. She was amazing wayyyy back in the 7th grade and it was then that she talked about being on Broadway. Way back then, and it all came to pass just like she said. Truly an amazing talent.
At 60 years old, she still has it!!!!! Very impressive!!! I have loved this woman and her voice, and musical repertoire since I was a teenager. DREAMGIRLS I began my love for you. I have everyone of your albums in vinyl 'FEEL MY SOUL' to the last album you released in 2013 'A SONG FOR YOU!!! THANK YOU FOR MUSICALLY ENHANCING MY LIFE!!!!
Thank you Jennifer, you've helped me in so many ways. I fight everyday to be better and stronger. I could've been dead because I thought of giving up but all your messages hit me straight in the heart that I am now trying to live my best life!!!
You know, they knew english. But they spoke in a different language that I couldn't understand. They share their culture and I know you're not watching ladies.I still miss you all❤
Takes me back to the American Motors assembly line with her I Am Love album blasting through the shift. You're still my vocal hero, Jen! You are an original.
Even though I know he'd been idea. But you still have another one coming up so Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday, Jennifer. Happy Birthday to you and many more.❤
That was the song when I was in the choir. They wanted me to sing in public some kind of parade they was having and the name of the song I believe I can fly
You know, this was sort of my job as a companion when I was in Savannah. You know what I'm talking about, wifey. It was 6 of us. And we had so much fun
Rick is Miley show and all the rest of the radio stations around the world play Miss Jennifer holiday please. It's nice to hear music. You can feel your soul and reminisce. And make somebody's day❤

This is Covid. No matter how ugly it got, how cruel it got, how painful it got, there was still a strength that overpowered it. Jennifer Holiday created a beauty that out shown all that pain. To think there was no audience to feel the incredible strength that colored every note that she sings. Humanity needed/needs this concert if for no other reason than to show beauty will always prevail. Covid attacked the world without prejudice, every facet of life was touched, was struck, was beaten down, but with all that Ms Holiday shined through so brightly that Covid didn’t stand a chance. This concert will ALWAYS BE; a testament to true pain when it comes to overcoming incredible difficulty; Ms Holiday continued, continued, continued. What a gift to lift the saddened hearts that needed lifting so badly. So thank you Ms. Holiday for giving a needed respite from the misery that we are all feeling, replacing it with HOPE. You are God Given. A gift. Thank you. God Bless.
She should be so further ahead in her career. By now she should have recorded a tribute album to Aretha Franklin, an album of Broadway show tunes- especially golden gems from the Black theatre, as well as songs made famous by white performers. There are dozens of albums in her dying to be recorded. Why can't a damn record company take the chance and get her signed.
