You can feel the 100 % effort that was placed in this film,everyone in every department was on board . Such an epic film . Jennifer hudson and this whole film deserves OSCARS and many other industry awards 👏👏👏. Get ready to sweep 🧹
Aretha wanted Jennifer and Aretha got Jennifer to play her. This was an Outstanding movie and Every Delta., Que Dog, Christian, Black Greek, Civil Rights Person, Pan African, White, Brown, etc... must see this movie. Martin Luther King had Aretha’ s full support. This movie opened my eyes to a person I knew and yet I didn’t know. The sign of Aries is better because of Aretha Franklin. Above all to have Fred Nelson the 3 rd, be a person I know from Christ Universal Temple this makes it more real. Aretha loved Fred and so do we. Amen to this movie.
I love this interview, explaining the social construct of the 60's that effected the black family. Aretha manage to to overcome so much, but those trials, didnt stop her from becoming such an all around phenomenal successful singer and muscian.
Truly appreciate the effort these great talented people made in creating the life of Aretha Franklin on film. There will never be another Queen ever of Soul.
The respect -- no pun intended -- here is PROFOUND. Not mired in sensationalism and presenting Black dysfunction as the default. This is why certain factions in Hollywood who hate Black Americans and our legacy have spent the past few months attacking this movie in the media with a slew of one-sided negative reviews to prop up a disrespectful and bigoted foreign-origin actress and that gutter tv series nobody asked for. You see the agenda in full display!!!!
Exactly so tired of it people don't realize you cannot show every little thing in the movie because it would have been almost 8 to 9 hours long no one's going to sit in the theater that long in the midst of a pandemic. P.s if they did show them all what happen then we still would have had a problem with the film and then they would've said it was too much and no matter what we do we can't please everyone. The film showed what was needed to be seen. Some people are so freaking nosey in my opinion they just want to know everything and then get mad because they don't know everything.
I h and I am 64 so I remember when many of these came iut and what is was like to hear such emotion and social commentary, in such a new sound eith a voice unparalleled. This film made me feel them even deeper thank you
Excellent commentary. I really hope they release the director's Extended Cut. You can tell from the previews that there was a lot edited out of the final version.
