Hey hey hey first one to comment. Jennifer is a spinto soprano. Spinto soprano have a naturally weighted tone. They are able to sing without a mic due to the power they possess and have angelic moments similar to a light lyric soprano. This also explains when she sings soft it still has some power to it. This is one of my favorite performances by her.
Yu said she was warming up her voice at the beginning. I could listen to her warming up all day! her voice his BEAUTIFUL! She is my favorite woman vocalist.
This is a great performance but she has one thst she does in Philadelphia its like WOW!!!!! I mean that live performance of Hallelujah in Philly was amazing !!!! But this one is great as well if you have a chance check out the live Philadelphia performance of this song 🎵
I'm not sure where she performed it but her best performance of this song was when she was singing outside in the winter with a coat and hat on during Christmas I think
Looks like a ring light, but it's actually an eye. You know how the industry is. Also she was not holding the mic at the beginning. She was sangin the ooooooo's while the mic was on the stand btw.
Jennifer is a soprano ;) Mezzos have way richer voices. Vickie Winans after her voice matured is a good example of one. Ah also someone like Mahalia Jackson is a mezzo.
And Simon Cowell basically said she couldn't sing! "The 25-year-old from Chicago was a contestant on American Idol in 2004. But she was voted off after judge Simon Cowell told her: "You're out of your depth in this competition."
