Stayed up all night finishing the first season! Such a great show!

The main reason I love this series is because there's no one in this Atypical universe who have malice, ulterior motives or evil in their heart. Any mistakes they do is purely from the point of them being human. That they have both dark and bright sides in them. And they are aware of their mistakes, they are prepared to face the consequences, feel sorry for it and make corrections. This series is just pure quality writing and acting all around.

I can't with myself I finished it in one day and now I have nothing to watch :(((((((((((

He's still a little awkward... I was almost hoping for him to shock me as some suave, sophisticated, smooth-talking dude.

It's so strange to see him speaking normally and expressing himself perfectly- I love that he's still shy in real life, maybe even more shy in interviews than his character is in the show. He's an amazing actor.

"You're kinda the scared mum who doesn't want his son to go through any pain" how did they mess up on that? Also I feel like these interviewers really didn't watch the show, because Jennifer does play a helicopter mum!

When people tell me I “need” to watch a show I force myself to stick with it but when I saw the pilot to Atypical I was instantly glued an loved how different this show is compared to anything else I’ve seen.

This show is too short. Should have had at least 12 episodes. Plus I read it may already be getting cancelled. It's so good.

I loved this show. I've never been diagnosed with autism but I do really struggle with people and keep to myself more than most. This show was heartwarming and comforting.

my brother has austism and he has a lot of similar things that they display with Sam. The major similarity is the not touching things, my brother hates when people touch or move his stuff without asking first or unless he asks you to. My brother is 22, I am almost 15 and at some times I am more mature then him. My brother acts as normal as most people, his austism does have it's affects but he handles it well, everyone has different reactions to different things including disabilities.

I absolutely love his acting in atypical he made it seem like he really had autism and to be honest I was convinced he actually did for awhile

All the actors and actresses are really great. Great family dynamics in the show. Very realistic! Amazing! As a person on the spectrum, it is sorta embarrassing to see the stuff you actually do in real life but you are watching somone else doing it on the screen. Like randomly talking about birds at work all the time. Lol. Anyhow, I changed that. To all the people who made this show: thank you for all of your hard work.

It was an absolutely AMAZING show. I loved every single episode. Wow!!! Please give us season 2, I just finished watching it and I'm about to re watch it again. It was so funny and sad and just sooooo many emotions wow!

My brother has autism and both me and my parents enjoy this show very much , it’s good to see things that he relates to and as he gets older things that can happen, We’ve just been waiting for Season 3 at this point haha

As a viewer of this series I can relate to a lot of things as Sam: I’m on the spectrum, I absolutely love penguins, and I have problems with school mainly my fellow peers though just like Sam does. So, I guess that’s all. 🐧

I've never known anyone with autism but after watching this show I can say I learned a great deal about penguins and Antarctica. But frfr what an awesome show. We need season 4 5 6 7 8 9 10

I came here to watch an interview. Maybe there was more actually broadcasted on TV version but in this clip the hosts just kind of talk at them and introduce us to Atypical. A lot of us are on here bc we’ve seen it-would have liked to hear more from the actors.

he is a brilliant actor

I'm very glad that some people find this show relatable. And as an autistic woman (diagnosed late into adulthood), I have no problem with a non-autistic actor playing this role. That said, I would like to see some other representation of autism on TV and in movies as well - autistic teens or adults who pass for non-autistic and have invisible struggles that nobody else can see. People need to understand that autism is a massive spectrum which is not linear. Many autistic people do not even know they are on the spectrum or are misdiagnosed with something else. Others self-identify as teens or adults but then struggle to access a diagnosis or to get clinicians to take them seriously if they appear "too normal" and are high-achieving socially and professionally, especially girls and women. For me personally, this show just perpetuates another stereotype of autism as a kind of visible deficit afflicting a minority of "unfortunate" people in society. Autism is so much more prevalent in the population than most people realise, and this representation of autism in Atypical does not help those of us who are on the spectrum and seen by almost everyone around us as "typical".
