@LaLunalovegood she may not have the biggest voice in the music business, but she sure can sing. People think that singing means to have a big, loud voice and scream like crazy like Mariah or Aretha do, but this doesn't define what sing is all about. If you listen carefully to some of Jennifer's ballad songs, you'll realise that she does have a beautiful voice. Just check out the song she wrote for her twins called "One Step At A Time". Her voice is amazing! Seriously.

lol she never pretented to be a big vocalist. There are many kind of singers... there is a room for everybody I think diversity is good. Personally I think she has a sweet and soft tone, in spanish she is a nice interpreter. but general people think singing means break windows. people don't argue they simply bitch because we live in a bitch world. they come to comments her videos, interviews etc but I suppose she laugh all her way to the bank
I didn't know she was on the most fascinating people list last year. SELENA was her best film and ON THE 6 ("If You Had My Love", "Waiting for Tonight") is her best album in my opinion.

JHO on american idol is a freaking joke, like the show isn't that already. She can't sing for crack. Image sells baby, not your voice. She looked like a drag queen on living color too. @grego7737 No dude. I don't consider those voices amazing, and I totally agree with you on that. Singers like Christina Aguilera tend to drive me crazy. But I have heard Jennifer Lopez sing ballads...she honestly cannot sing. She just projects her voice. And her notes are usually too sharp or too flat, it can get a little uncomfortable to listen to unless it's autotuned. Obviously, you have the right to your opinion, but I was just refuting the notion that gr.populous agreement validates talent

Firstly vocal pedagogy is an objective science, it's a matter of fact, not a matter of taste, so you cannot have an opinion on it. Secondly I never stated that one can only be a good singer by having a wide vocal range, so please do not misrepresent my point. What makes someone a good sing is their ability to vocalize a correct pitch, support their registers, achieve resonance, sing in the masc, execute correct musicianship. Its not hate to demand skill from those who claim to be singers
She pretends like she can act and sing who are we kidding? As for laughing all the way to the bank it still doesn't mean she can sing. The music business is not about singing but a brand and imagine we have become so accustomed to mediocre and auto tune singers that it's become the norm that after a while you start believing they are good. It's called power of persuasion.

I totally agree with you! Talent isn't required(though it should be : / !) give them a makeover and tons of publicity and they will sell! Rihanna is a prime example, or Cheryl Cole. Talentless, but are making a small fortune because the public they are aimed at don't realise what rubbish they are! :(

Riri can't sing(that's my opinion) but has a top management team courtesy of Jay Z and top song writers/producers so that why she's flying high. Before Jay Z took her on, her career was coming to an end....
Vocal technique is objective, you cant have an opinion on it, its either right or wrong. Appeals to authority are logical fallacies, we judge the voice based on the merit of its technique, not what other people claim. Calling a voice beautiful is a reference to the timbre of someone's voice, an inherent quality that has nothing to do with how well a person can achieve ressonace, vocalize a correct pitch etc i.e. VOCAL PEDAGOGY which is the point of my very simple coment
@cjs33139 On the other hand, unlike Jennifer, all stories from Marc`s colleagues and fans,begin and end with the fact that he is very grateful and humble personality.But even he is sometimes quite sharp,for example, sometimes with the paparazzi and reporters.You can not expect these people to constantly are available, in good mood and impeccable behavior.They are just a people.I thought even if I had an experience like yours with Marc, I would not have throw his discs-his music make me happy.

I'm a big fan of Marc Anthony - because of him I've spent thousands of hours in the true enjoyment of music and absolute pride that I am a human being and that people can achieve such a beauty with talent. What can he owes me? You bought her CDs because you like what's inside. When you buy a car with a Ford brand for exemple, are you expect they are eternally available and thank you because you bought their car?
