I don't get people freaking out of Lana talking about how SQ is sexy etc. Unfortunately, she said so cause she knew what fans wanted to hear. Don't get me wrong, I'm a life-long swen & evil regal but Lana never actually believed in SQ as a romantic pairing.
It actually looked like a very wise way to interact with her new fans. Also, she is a hardcore activist so I bet she thought supporting SQ was about supporting LGBTQ+ as well, which is not quite true tbh.
It's very clear from her multiple interviews, she saw SQ as a fanfictional pairing which turned queer people on, but SQ was so much more. It was deep, meaningful, multi-layered.
Not even gonna rant about how straight people also shipped SQ (including me, hi!) cause it was about dynamics between the characters, this untraditional fairytale idea, the freaking plot itself which ofc was also un-in-ten-tio-nal.
