I was told you need to ask the powwow committee for a time to announce an initiation and ask an elder to pray for her and I’ve been told to present the committee with offerings. She would have to choose someone she wants to learn from in the circle and dance with them till she dances on her own to finish the song. I suggest tobacco but ask some elders or people in the powwow circle for more info. Hope this helps.
If you go to powwows or watch these on youtube you will notice that the quality of these dancers tonight was incredible. I am in awe of Lacy Elders. Beautiful dancing my sisters.
