Hi Barry, it’s taken me a long time to get that film in. I’m glad I saved it for Christmas week. Another great film and what a place to ride. It made me want to visit the lakes again next year. Thanks for taking time to make another film. Hope you had a good Christmas and let’s hope we all have a happy new year with lots of adventures
If this doesn’t inspire you to do the Jennride, there’s no hope for mankind. And why not throw in a shed load more miles for added fun! Brilliant film, great memories, cheers Barry, Allen and Danny and the supporting cast.
Wow... that my friend is your best yet, 40 minutes of pure joy to watch, fabulous scenery, edited to perfection!!! Hats off Barry that was stunning mate and look forward to your next adventure!!!
Thanks Barry that was brilliant to watch and you clearly put a lot of work into making it. It looked great fun but boy way above my capability. Totally agree about having suspension as I brought a Boardman Gravel bike that had none and going off road on it was so bad I sold it on. If I ever do replace it I will get a MTB with front suspension. We had a great discussion on Touring bikes last night on the CTF and I can definitely see why you wouldn't want racks riding across the terrain you did. Stay safe. Ted
Hi Ted! Thank you so much for watching. I have been riding rigid for many years, but I kept pushing it on the technical terrain, so suspension has just helped the fun rather than fear factor haha. Yes panniers vs bikepacking is a great discussion, many pros and cons of each :-) the CTF is the best ever festival, very looking forward to a physical one again :-)
@Barry Godin Thanks for replying Barry. I am so glad that Tim & Laura have continued with the virtual CTF as I doubt whether I will ever get to the actual festival. Whilst I realise these are hard financial times for many people I di hope that most people that are on live do donate whatever they can afford to it as its great value. Even being on a pension given I devour it all £20 is a no brainer for me. Stay safe.
Great video Barry, captures what's so special about Jennride. I did (briefly) consider going from Skipton on the Friday, but the prospect of 60 miles into that headwind put a stop that that idea!
Hey Ian! Thanks for joining my adventures ;-) I have done a few films of kit carried, also there is a mini series BG tips with needs a little update, but that talks in detail all the stuff i carry
Hi Barry, how are you? I really like watching your videos. They are inspiring, I hope one day we can meet on some trip and talk. I love bikepacking and I would be very grateful if you could share this route with me so I can plan and embark on this journey. A big hug
Looked like an amazing experience - incredible how far and how fast your bike takes you. Was the suspension fork a factory option or did you add it separately?
Hey Conor!! Yeah the bike is the best mode of transport ever! The places it has taken me!!! The bike is a custom build, if you watch up past two films i tell you all about it :-)
A delightful movie experience Barry. Thank you. Beautifully and thoughtfully crafted. I’m inspired to bikepack the Lakes and/or do Jennride next year! Also, I sense a new camera (?) as the image quality is nearly as good as your production quality!
Hey Julian! Thankyou so much! Yeah I do use very simple gear to film, would love to one day use a proper camera, but then more to try and carry, hence the iphone photography still. What do you carry and use?
@@barrygodin7538 I don’t film myself. Perhaps I should have a go. Probably good fun, but I appreciate the skill it takes. Your video quality is already awesome. Keep it lightweight and simple as is then, I’d say, keeping it authentic with healthy balance of focus on the actual adventure, which you do wonderfully.
@@barrygodin7538 I have a Trek Xcaliber 9 for my bike packing bike, with a RockShox Judy Silver and was wondering if the juice is worth the squeeze of upgrading to a Pike?
