I'm not sure if I've ever seen less chemistry between two actors.

This is the straightest movie in the lgbt category I have ever seen.

These two are the worst pair EVER. They look like they have zero chemistry. Alexis Bledel looks like she didn't even want to be around Heigl, at all.

No chemistry at all, they seem like bestfriends ._.

Let me guess the plot Act 1 - parents want their daughter to get married Act 2 - plot twist she's gay and the parents are disappointed Act 3 - parents realise family is important and go to the wedding All these romantic movies are so predictable when you've seen 1 you've seen them all

I'm kinda disappointed because what I've seen from the trailer the main actresses (the couple to be wedded) have no real chemistry ... They seem like great friends but ... Am I the only one who just doesn't get that spark of love and passion that should be there?

True that I wish the two leads had more chemistry but the main focus was the family dynamics. The scene toward the end with her Dad makes the movie and definitely makes me tear up.

It's a good movie to help you come out to your parents without scaring them or being judged. But honestly even the sister looked gayer to me than Katherine or Alexis.

Katherine is soooo not believable as a lesbian. Her acting hasn't been good since My Father the Hero.

I just loved the scene where Jenny's mum tells off those two women in the supermarket...I started balling my eyes out and got goosebumps all over my body!! them chills...so real...

Having just watched it, I can honestly say that this is the least amount of chemistry I have ever seen between two people in movie history. Not surprised that the parents believed the room mate story

i actually liked this movie. Yes the chemistry is a bit off, but the meaning is so great. Living in a small town with traditional values isn't easy. I'm straight, but it even opened up something for me being from a traditional family.

It makes me so mad how parents get so upset when they find out their children are gay. So what. If my children told me they were gay I wouldn't care, I wouldn't judge them, I'd be happy for them. I'm a Catholic but I still don't understand why it's a sin.... I know men and women can have children together, but everyone (man-woman, man-man, women-women) can love each other and start a family too.

oh my god seriously nothing has ever made me happier...are gone the days of horribly produced, third rate lesbian movies!? This is a sign of such progress!

You know, I get that I'm 24 years "Young" but I have been waiting for what feels like a LIFETIME for a movie, no matter the genre, about two lesbians who are in a relationship that DOESN'T look like it was filmed with their parents camera and isn't "awkward" to watch. I've only found somewhere around 2 movies like that and 1 of the 2 could EASILY be considered a spoof movie with a good plot. 3 if you count the movie "The Marine" but even that one was hard to stomach at points. For me, I don't care what kind of romantic movie it is or who the hell the actresses are. I just wanna see ONE movie FOR ONCE actually make it to the theaters in my state/area that is ACTUALLY WELL DONE!!!!! Hell, I don't even care if it makes it to the damn theater, I just want a GOOD LESBIAN MOVIE that doesn't look like some college kids said "Hey guys, lets make a movie!" and go overboard with the artsy fartsy Indy Movie crap. Don't get it twisted though, I LOVE film making myself. It was my choice of career path after all. I've seen my fair share of Indie movies that blow the SOCKS off of some of the mainstream films but I'm SO sick of NEARLY every lesbian movie I've ever been able to find either be some crappy indie film or done beautifully, but because I don't understand the language, I was forced to read subtitles the entire film (Really not all that bad when I'm in the mood for a good foreign film but you get the point). I haven't seen this yet, but if the trailer is ANYTHING to go by, this movie, while it may not be what we're all looking for, I'd say it's a DAMN good step in the right direction. At least in comparison to the movies I've seen. Like I said, theres a few that I've loved that I wouldn't classify as "indy" but still. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that one day in my lifetime I'll be able to go to the movies and watch a film that has two women (or men) in it, that is done in a similar style to the way they do the "Nicholas Sparks" movies and have it make me feel at least SOMEWHAT normal... That reason alone is why I keep my fingers crossed when I see trailers for films like this and "Freehold"...

I love this movie I don't care what anyone thinks about it with their 1/5 stars. Love this movie!

Well written movie. Acting top notch. The movie is about Jenny and her family. It is not a love story about her and her partner. Wrap your heads around that and you will understand the view point of this movie. I liked it!

The dynamic between the couple seemed a little underwhelming when it could have been more developed. There wasn't a whole lot of chemistry between the two to make you fall in love with their intimacy. There wasn't even a portrayed argument when the situation they faced definitely provoked it. There needed to be more passion and intensity and stronger character development to establish what she was fighting so hard for, rather than it mostly be an implication (no, I'm not referring to sex scenes, or make out sessions). The dynamic of the family definitely seemed much more raw and intense in comparison that kept me glued. With that said, it was still a really good film.... loved it!

I absolutely loved it!!! Would watch it again. So beautiful.

omg i am always left in awe by Katherine. She'll always be one of the greatest actresses of all time for me. I always picture her with an oscars. Once an actor always an actor. The chemistry is off here but still you can see how superb Katherine is. She is always at her very best when she plays movies about LIFE.

Not that there's been a lot of mainstream gay couple movies (that I'm aware of anyway) but its good to see the narrative is changing to something more romantic rather than sexual. tv shows and movies these days always show these over the top, unrealistic or just overly sexual depictions of gay relationships/people....

I know in real life there’s only a 3 year difference, but Alexis Bledel still looks way too young to be paired with Katherine Heigl in my opinion. If they had decent chemistry they could maybe get away with it, but there’s just no connection between the two from this trailer.

The problem for parents isn't that they're gay, the problem is that they believe that won't have grandchildren, which is usually the case. A lesbian couple sometimes has one child, occasionally two. A gay male couple usually has no biological children. Their parents often can't help feeling as though they are cut off by that.

there was no chemistry between the 2 actress but the highlight of the movie was when Jenny's father explain why he was hurt and walked away. That scene was a genuine true to life scenery.

This movie was great. It was NOT about the relationship between the two ladies. It was a coming out flick surrounding an everyday American family in middle America burbs. I just watched this flick. I cried buckets.

I do agree on they should show more scenes of the main couple and why Jenny is trying so hard to prove her love to her family, but still, i think they're cute enough. I'm really excited to see what happens after the initial setup we see in this trailer of ''girl wants to get married and then it turns out she's gay and her family don't like that and she fights with them and gradually wins them over and they almost don't come to the wedding and then the mother shows up at her back door and says its alright that she's gay and then she has a magical wedding''. Looks like a great jump off point for a story. Could really go anywhere...
