In this run I used a custom pack on the test server to try out one of the new synergies for jerboa; the worm!
Worm's rework turned it into a tier 2 pet that adds a discounted apple to the shop at the start of every turn, making it an INCREDIBLY good pet to run with jerboa since jerboa uses apples to scale all the other pets on the team!
The goal of this run was simply to find enough worms to run a squad consisting of 4 worms and a single jerboa to scale them. There are obviously stronger strategies than just using this to scale worms, but I really wanted to show off how amazing jerboa scaling can be with a full worm squad!
Another interesting pet to use with jerboa is the new owl, which has also been changed on the test server to spawn a mouse onto the squad at the start of every turn. This can actually produce more apples than an equivalent number of worms, since a level 3 owl will spawn level 3 mice which can then be sold for 3 apples and gold every turn!
However, every owl requires an empty slot for the mice to spawn into, so while the scaling would be a little faster (assuming at least one level 2 / level 3 owl), you'd be forced into running empty spaces and the jerboa would be able to scale fewer pets.

📌 About this game
Super Auto Pets is a cute, animal themed auto-battler. The core of the gameplay involves trying to improve your team by buying animals with different abilities and giving them items, then at the end of each turn your team is matched against another random one and the fight plays out by itself. If you lose a fight, you lose some health, and if you win, you get a trophy. If you get 10 trophies you win the game!

Seeing puppy and worm changed does make me sad to see some of the self-scalers disappear but it'll be interesting to try out some new strategies for sure

There're definitely some fun combos to try! it's always fun when new stuff gets added since there're so many things that might have interesting interactions :D I am kind of hoping they'll bring back the old worm ability for another pet eventually though, I felt like that was a pretty fun one

@@Keenoe I'm honestly really glad that I got my Lvl3 Worm Win recently. I feel like it's going to be much tougher to justify scaling the New-ability Worm to Lvl3 in the Base Pack.

I hate the old puppy. Worm was okay but I always believed it deserved a buff, I just didn't know how, so I am happy to see them both changed. Puppy pack is probably my favorite so seeing it reworked like this is gonna be simultaneously painful and exciting. After all, there must be a reason people don't like the puppy pack

Expecting either Jerboa to get nerfed into the ground (limiting the buff to a certain level, certain number of instances, or ruining the buff). I think they won't touch Worm, but it seems like a weird place to leave it. Going from a carry to a shop support token is a bit unnecessary lol.

I love the new mechanics of the worms, but old worm is great and really well balanced. The new ability should be a new pet. Or change a bad pet.

Have teamwood said if this will be paid? It's technically a patch not DLC so should be free. But it's also a decent amount of content so 🤷‍♂️
