Before the general election, many Labour Party figures said Corbyn was unelectable, unqualified and ruining the party. Now, some of them may want to come back into his shadow cabinet.
We nominated Sadiq Khan as a pro-Corbyn candidate, and he promptly betrayed the members who gave him that nomination. It's nice they are mostly and grudgingly altering their positions now, but they are still as a parliamentary party group wildly unrepresentative of the party. At the very least, we need to wrest control of the NEC from the antis who did everything they could to make their prophesies of electoral doom fulfil themselves, and ensure that no Blairite ever wins another parliamentary candidature until the PLP has become representative of the feeling in the country, which is us, not them.
People saying sack them, purge them, even kill them, stop right now. Hatred is not what we're about or what Corbyn represents and you're doing us no favours. I've always loved Corbyn and now I'm glad the party is uniting behind him
ok no There's a very good reason to not want your party representatives to be those who fundamentally disagree with the principles of the party and the people it is supposed to represent.
a guardian article today: "it's not Corbyn young people voted for it's his policys" He's a politician wtf else are we going to vote for him based on? his hair do? if he's good at pantomime?
they've only got their jobs because of corbyn currently and he's so nice that he said they can come back and he'd rather talk than fight. How can you hate someone like him? Oooooh Jeremy Corbyn
At the time they seemed shockingly deluded, but I thought maybe that was because I had the same concerns as Jeremy Corbyn. I am so relieved that I am not the only one who recognised the need for change.
All the people saying they should resign or be sacked... you're really showing your knowledge of the political system we have, guys... MPs can't just resign. They can decide not to stand for re-election and in exceptional circumstances there are ways they can ask to be assigned to a position that disqualifies their position as an MP (basically a weird way of resigning without breaking the rules).
I'm concerned for Labour, by saying that these people were wrong and that Corbyn was always capable of gaining seats, people aren't taking seriously the amount of work that went into turning it around for Labour. These people were right, Labour was in a dire situation not long ago, they were losing council seats and by-elections, it was fair to say they would lose a general election. Corbyn turned it around, that's great, but would he have done if he wasn't challenged and made to push back, clarify his ideas and his personality, learn how to communicate better... I don't think he would have done. And he hasn't won yet, he'll need more fair criticism and more pushing in order to finally win a Labour majority.
Can they not see that people are behind him, as an honest, real Labour man? Sack them all. Espec Hilliary Benn. His father rest his soul would be disgusted.
I hate it how the MPs lied about how bad Labour was doing when the polls actually supported Corbyn's leadership being good as they showed the Conservative-Labour lead int the polls had fallen considerably from when he was elected 12th September 2015 to 23rd June 2016 proving he was doing well and given the polls were in fact severely underestimating the support for Labour due to overcorrecting for last time underestimating support for the Conservatives he may well have won the election at that point if an election was called on that day. Its a shame Labour's MPs didn't get behind their leader because if they did then that massive lead between the Conservatives and Labour that merged as a result of the coup attempt wouldn't have happened and during the campaign Corbyn would have ended up increasing Labour's vote share to enough to actually win the election with a majority rather than simply rob the Conservatives a majority.
Hillary benn is labour mp for Leeds/Hyde Park area and everyone voted for him. Only because Jeremy Corbyn came to Hyde Park and boosted the labour support substantially. Lucky Hillary Benn
Why don't they stand for conservative instead.... Simples. They do not realise that people are voting them in because of Jeremy corbyn. If someone else was in their position, then that individual would also win, why?? Because of Jeremy corbyn. Everyone should sign up to labour ASAP
Corbyn had about as good as a campaign as he is going to get and the Cons with May made a total blunder.... still Labour did not get in. (By the way I vote for neither the Tories nor Labour)
Still the jeremy Cornyn smears as was recently portrayed on the recent BBC documentary (totally biased) maybe because he is a rare breed of politician as he really cares and is genuine. Kindness wins
First of all, this video is clearly trying to divide the Labour community. Second of all, Corbyn was quite a weak leader around the time of the EU referendum, the turning point was the GE 2017 campaign and the manifesto which helped changed people's minds.
He can't stand up to criticism or concerns so everyone opposing him is an evil tory or should just quit. Well everything is wrong with that. Is he the right person for the job sadly no
London Resist Well to be fair if Labour had run Owen Smith the party would have been wiped out right now. I think other factors such as EU negotiations might have played a factor in the Tories hanging on. Labour is a government in waiting right now, if they keep this up. Next election it should be the end for the Tories
