As my nephew would say-"This dude is hardcore." Love Jeremy, he's an inspiration to all anglers I think. The dream of fishing all around the world for multiple species is something most of us will never experience- but we can live through Jeremy. Plus he combines his love of fishing with local folk lure about monsters in the rivers- it's a great idea. I don't know if he came up with it or if someone else came up with the show and just got him to host but- it's a brilliant idea and he's the perfect host for it.

Can we all take a minute and imagine how tired he must have been afterwards. I've caught a 27lb 9oz. Striper and it took me about 10 minutes to land. It felt like an hour. My muscles were twitching to the point where I couldn't even write. I cannot fathom what something like that would be like. Jeremy Wade is an absolute SAVAGE!👊🏼
@ocbeachfishing
@ocbeachfishing 2 года назад
That was a good catch, I recently caught 2 bat rays back to back. 1 st one was roughly 30-40lbs, (couldn't take a pic because I was tired to go get the phone) second one was about 25-30lb or more.. for sure. I upgraded my fishing and I fish with 30lb main line with a 50lb mono leader. The reel was screaming and it gave many runs, even when it was close to land it kept on running.. these 2 were the biggest bat rays I ever landed from the jetty. I had to run down the jetty to a section where it was good to fight it from (sandy, like a beach area) and I was literally on my butt touching the sand.. I couldn't do it no more but I kept on cranking until I landed the beast. I was out of strength on both arms, needless to say I called it and went home right after that feeling victorious. I have a picture of one and another one the week before not as big but they are definitely one of my fav fish to catch. If you wanna see the picture ig @ocbeachfishing PS. they broke my reel and it had to get repair

Stonefish venom/poison is FAR more lethal. Stingray's venom/poison is not that toxic to humans... the problem with Stingrays is their spine is huge and barbed... it's like getting stabbed by a knife with a hook on it and then getting injected with venom.

Just for curiosity: what will likely happen to the stingray and the broken rod? Does it have to live with a line and and a broken rod dangling from its mouth for the rest of his life? I am not a fisherman, so I have no idea what will happen.
@babalonkie
@babalonkie 3 года назад
I shall help here. Depends. It's not clear if the hook came loose or the line snapped when the rod broke. If the hook came loose, no worries. If the rod Broke and the line snapped, the rod would of came from the line and dropped to the bottom of the river... So no rod attached to the fish. The hook and line however will be attached to the fish for a while. The hook is designed to rust. So it will either decompose or be pushed out by the animals healing. The line would of snapped near the hook, meaning there is little fishing line attached to the hook. The fish will be fine and will not even notice the hook after a day or two, after a few months/years the hook comes out. I hope this explains it for you.

That fish must be suffering so much with pain,that hook may be stucked with bone.
@babalonkie
@babalonkie 3 года назад
@@amargurung9091 No. Sharks are used to damage and have amazing healing. Ray's are part of the the shark family. After a day or two the animal wont even know there is a hook in the mouth. They are not Whales, Dolphins or mammals. They have better pain tolerance and healing. They are also very accustomed to injuries and pain being all they do is kill/eat/swim/breed and nothing else.

I've seen several biceps detach in person... its usually followed by a grown man screaming in pain. Not sitting there with a smile on his face. I'm shocked he had such a little reaction. For a good 20 seconds... just a little smile in disbelief, then talking about it, then a little laugh while he grabbed his shoulder. His tolerance for pain must be through the roof. I've seen bodybuilders and professional strong men cry from that same injury. Just incredible
