I like this stuff, its pretty nice. I also believe that I'm the only guy in these comments...probably the only guy to use this stuff. Oh well I'm not ashamed, I wanna look good too!
California chick here....my ex fiance used to use my oil of olay body wash. Just saying California surfer dude loved it. ;) Guys, his skin was amazing and no he did not smell girly. :) :) :)
I only use the body lotion even on my face. For the face I just use a pea size and go half and half with a regular moisturizer. Then with a wet q tip a remove it from my eyebrows and any hiperpigmentations. For the body I scrub my entire body with used coffee ground, then shower and while I’m still a bit wet I apply de tanner very sparingly and avoiding my knees, inner thighs, elbows and underarms. It absorbs faster and better. Once the lotion is almost absorbed I wet my hand and I blend in the areas I avoided before. Works perfectly for me.
I've always wondered about using the body one my face, but havent found any reviews from people trying it. Now I think I'll try it with some regular moisturizer :) Thanks!
You shouldn't use drug store brands of self-tanner on your face because it includes alcohol and as well, if you have acne prone skin it will cause more acne.
Yulietsy Delgado i recently accidentally purchased the body one for my face. do i have to mix it with moisturizer? i have no problem with acne or pimples here and there. i have clear skin, so i was wondering if it could effect me. what will happen if i don’t mix it with moisturizer?
I personally find that if you want a deep tan and maintain it you can use the jergens instant sun mousse and apply the lotion to deepen it/maintain it as it fades. that’s for a deeper tan! for a lighter one you can def use the lotion on its own. either looks amazing!! ❤️❤️
I remember when I was in high school I purchased a Jergens face moisturizer and I didn’t notice it was a tanning lotion until I noticed my hands were orange after a few days. 😭
I'm using the light to medium right now. I have noticed streaking around my ankles and wrists but the ankles were operator error ( I believe) but the wrists evened out after a few more uses. I'm feeling dark compared to my normal paper white complexion and I've been using this every day for 5 days. I haven't noticed a yellow or orange color. This is one of the best self tanner's I have used and it does smell nice " for a Tanner".
If anybody is reading this and having the same trouble, it helps if you put some regular body lotion on your wrists, ankles, knees and elbows first, and let it sink in for a minute or two before you go to town with the self tanner. It makes the transition more gradual, and you can always use a little more lotion on those areas anyway.
I have the Walmart "equate" brand works the same. Has the firming, and is $2 cheaper.☺️ Edit- it does have a slight fake tan smell, but goes away in mins.
Ok, I personally, have a a lot of redness to my skin, I have absolutely no issue with it looking yellow. I was afraid of being orange, that also hasn't happened. I like it because it makes me look just tan enough to not be ghostly white and have the perfect kiss of color. so far I've used it a week and I believe I will continue. now, you do have to use it very sparingly over creases, elbows, knees, feet and hands, other than that no problem!
I forgot to mention that the one I used years ago was lightly scented the one I purchased recently was so scented that I ended up having to shower to rinse it off. It was so over powering and it was making me sick. I use to love using this product during the winter months it always worked really good. I just can’t handle the over powering smell. Once again, thank you for your review and I hope you can help me with answering my question. Thanks
This is old BUT I do have to say the really good part about this is you don’t have to worry about “showering off your fake tan” considering this is applied after you shower! I also love it because you can tan in the sun and all it does is enhance your tan! 💗
After posting my comment yesterday, today I tried my discontinued Jergens BB "glow" cream. It definitely does NOT smell floral like I said yesterday. I would say that the scent right out of the tube is more like a sweet candy of some sort, although probably not anything any of us would want to eat! It's a sickening sweet. I exfoliated in the shower and then applied it and no other moisturizer, about 45 minutes ago. I still smell the sweet scent of the product and it has not yet changed chemically. It usually takes a couple of hours for that to transition. In my opinion, it's even less pleasant than the initial scent, so I am very hopeful that the newer version, Natural Glow, smells much better. I don't have a lot of hope because some comments below said they thought it a rather strong and unpleasant scent, unlike your experience of not much scent at all. I'll let you know, assuming you're still out there!
The only thing about the face version, or any face self tanner really, is that I have a very dialed-in skincare routine, and I'm not sure how to make this fit.
Than you, Yana. Your video may be 5 years old, but in 2023 it is still helping people like me! I have similar skin tone to yours, and similar fine blonde hair, so your recommendations are very helpful. I previously used the Jergen's BB gradual self tanner, but they discontinued it a few years ago. I loved that tanner too, for similar reasons: it was very forgiving and did not streak or ever appear blotchy, and it produced just enough color to make a huge difference. Plus it actually improved the skin tone & texture, even after only one application. I was so bummed when Jergens discontinued it. I am guessing they replaced it with this product. You say that the scent is pleasant with the Natural Glow, or even barely noticeable. The older BB cream had a genuine self tanner (chemical) scent after it had been applied a couple of hours. At first, it smelled floral and nice, but later it clearly smelled like a self tanner. I personally do not like that scent, so I do hope that this newer version no longer has that lingering odor. I felt like the scent shouted out to everyone within 6 feet of me that I had applied a self-tanner, which none of us really wants. The product looks very natural on you. I will try the lighter version (Light to Medium). I used the Fair to Medium on the BB version, and that was more than enough of a glow. Also, could you do a video on how you achieve your loose, open waves? Your hair appears fine. Yes? I have a 1" Beach Waver, and the wave is much tighter than I'd like. But, with super-fine hair, a smaller wand is typically needed to get a wave that won't fall out completely after an hour or so. Have you found a device that actually gives you this loose wave right away? And does it last? Thanks very much, Yana!
OMG! I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS! I am 60 years old and haven't bad skin but getting older I did begin to see some changes of course. But I'd really love to send you pictures of myself that I had taken. I want to ask if someone could get back to me because I am really looking for you to know what your product is doing for me in such a short time. Please let me know what you think it's important
I am an outdoorsy person. I swim everyday I can. I go in, bathe, and while I'm wet from rinse, I apply the Jergens, then towel off. I've never had a bad experience from this product. It enhances my tan and doesn't leave streaks, orange, or any bad effects.
@@prisessa the skin firming moisturizer, this time. I've been using it for a long time, back when everyone turned their noses up at it as second rate, but the expensive high class products were streaking and turning everyone's skin orange
Bro that happened to me. My dad would use that lotion so one week i started using it and all my friends were like "how did you get tan its the winter" and i was so confused
(This May be a stupid question , haha sorry I’m very new to tanning) if I use this on my body and arms/legs (since you said it’s not THAT dark) will it look awful if I don’t door my face?
Hi Yana, how are you 🤗I have a few questions. I bought this product and only tried it twice, but after seeing this video I’m going to start back onto it. Thanks. When is a good time to start this product, next week starts our spring time weather? And will it be ideal to put the lotion glow product in the morning before you put on your makeup. Also we have almost the same skin color, I am also pale 😊While using the product which color of foundation is best, I’ve used Ivory to Porcelain color? Thanks for sharing your story 🫶
I had problems with the body lotion, especially on my arms. If I put it on my arms, where I bend them would come off and after a few days it would look orange
Can anyone tell me if there is a tampering proof cap on the tip. Vids should show brand new products so the consumer knows exactly what they are buying.
I just tried it. I applied it at 3pm and I couldn’t smell it but by 7pm I could smell that horrible tan smell. Trying to look past it but I swear there is no fake tan out there that doesn’t smell 😫
Where heck are you finding foundation with red undertones because 99% of foundations I've found turn me yellow. Like what foundation does Snow White use? I need that.
I love this so much! What I’ve learned to help me is after applying it make sure to wear long sleeves and sweats when going to bed. If not I believe it ends up more streaky looking (at least for me😂)
I am 28 years old and never have done any fake tanning before but I would love to learn. How often should you exfoliate after doing these self tans? Also I spend a lot of time at the pool so I’m getting the natural sun as well. Trying to figure out if you should exfoliate because the dead skin the sun can cause but might not want to rub off the self tanner and then start looking all spotted. Lol help please!
I know this video is a few years old, but I was wondering if you still use the Jergens gradual self tanning lotion on the body. If so do you know if they changed their formula? I haven’t used it in a while but from what I remember it didn’t have such a strong floral scent. Do you know if they changed their formula. Thank you in advance if you can answer me.
They did change their formula. I know they added coconut oil last year, as i cant use it now b/c of this. If you dont have any acne tho/no sensitive skin, you should be safe to use it
As a person who has used this product for years, I absolutely have to clarify some things because this video is VERY misleading. First, I use the product because I like it but let's be honest. This product definitely smells like selftanner as the day goes on if you apply it in the morning. It actually really stinks after a couple of hours. It will DEFINITELY come off on your clothes and bedding, even your seatbelt if you wear something low cut and will transfer onto white clothing from your seatbelt even days after you have used it. This must have been a sponsored video. I don't want anyone to have the idea that this product will not stain clothes or that it doesn't smell because it absolutely will and absolutely does. I use this at night and wash off in the morning because the smell is terrible and I know that my bedding will be stained. Your favorite white clothes WILL be stained if you use this product and not shower it off beforehand. It works well and leaves a nice looking color and for the price you can't beat it but this video is very misleading.
Great video. You answered my question first thing: what is the difference between the body lotion and the face lotion? OH, now I get why I should spend the extra money for the face lotion. But, you said, 'that is takes a while to dry.' How long is a little while? 1 minute, 3 minutes, 5 minutes? How long?
I can’t use these self tanners anymore. Either I’m applying it on wrong or it just isn’t for me. It makes my skin orange and my face looks more oily/ greasy and my face looks sickly. It comes out really orange on my hands and but on my body I do like the color. Maybe if I had more patience for it would come out better but I don’t lol.
I did and the color held up ok but I also kept applying this every day. Once I stopped the color lasted for a few days and lingered in the dryer ares as usual (like feet, elbow creases etc).
Just got this product a few weeks ago but I haven’t tried it yet. I’ve been reading reviews and they’re pretty mixed tbh which makes me like ur scared to try it. I have kinda sensitive skin and used to have severe hormonal cystic acne and now have scars from that so I’m really particular about what products I use. Some people have said that they have broken out after using this i don’t want that to happen obviously lol so someone lmk if it’s actually good or not !!
ik i’m late and i doubt that she’ll still answer but can you still wash and exfoliate your face while using this product or will it wash the self tanner off. and how long does it tend to stay on ?
I have the body lotion one an I use it on my legs cause there’s no good spots to tan in the city an for me after 8 hours I will see a result but after 2 days or so it fades out
I had a horror story about this stuff in middle school, I naturally have a very strong yellow undertone in my skin and using this stuff made me even MORE yellow, it took me too long to notice and it took a really long time to fade 😢
Amina Mohammed They have a coco butter glow one that helps with exactly what you’re describing. One of my clients uses it and she’s a very refined, stunning woman.
I love it but it makes me small salty almost😂 I was in a group with a girl and I could smell it I knew exactly what she used. Could easily be covered with perfume
I used the face moisturizer from the line but I’ve heard people use the body one for both face and body and it worked out good. The only thing is that I have acne-prone skin so I wanted to use an oil-free moisturizer for my face which is why I ended up getting the face moisturizer as well. 💕
How do you tan and not burn?I want to use a tanner but I go outside a lot and don’t want to get burned.Do u put on sun before or after applying tanner?
Sunscreen, girlfriend!!! I know this is 3 years later and you're probably long gone. BUT, for current viewers, even though you apply a self-tanner, there is no UV (sun) protection in those products. Always, always apply at least a 30spf sunscreen, and preferably a 50spf. I'm fairly light, so I use a 50 (today), because I had "suspicious, very early" melanoma cells 5 years ago removed by a derm doctor. You do NOT want that! We ALL need sun protection, no matter how much melanin we have in our skin. No one has enough melanin to ward off all those dangerous, killer UV rays. I don't mean to sound like an alarmist, but too many people suffer from sun damage over time, or worse. If I were in my 20's again, I would never go outside without sun protection. But I was young, didn't know, and loved to bike ride everywhere--without sunscreen, of course. I now I have the brown spots on my arms and legs to show for it. I'm just trying to help you age beautifully, with no brown spots and no skin cancer!
