Thanks for the kind words John! I haven't shot the 40 but I bet the recoil impulse is minimal. Not many guns that leave a lasting impression like the Jericho. Even the name is awesome.

John Hymer, I totally agree that this is the best “Jericho” review out there. I just wish there had been some background info on how the IDF originally wanted this as their service sidearm, which they soon ditched for the Glock17. Incidentally but not unfortunately , I gave up my 17gen4 for my IMI BDG 9mm sans rail in hard chrome finish. The 17 I feel, is the premier service 9mm out there.

I actually don't know too much about that contract. My assumptions are lighter weight, lower cost, easier to repair, and higher reliability (as early Jericho's had an issue with the firing pin geometry, it would rotate inside the firing pin chamber assembly and cause the gun to seize if out of alignment). I agree, the Glock 17 fits a lot of military and civilian needs. It's cheap, reliable, and easy to repair. Thanks for the comments guys! I still do want one of those modernized versions but in steel to keep that heft.

I know there newer ones are pretty nice though. Lokgrips also makes custom g10 grips styled like Spike's in the anime, so if you wanna get the authentic look that's where to go next!

You are correct! The version I have in the video is the Desert Eagle branded Jericho. Spike's firearm actually says Jericho 941 on it. Unfortunately, I do not own that particular model. Regardless, they are the same pistol in terms of internals and functionality.

Jericho is such a great series of pistols, I'm so glad IWI/IMI kept it in their line-up. I was honestly worried they were going to ditch the whole thing when the Masada was released. Bang!

Speak of steel framed guns, a friend of mine told me this "old tech" of full metal guns was popular in the anime because a lack of materials to manufacture polymers/plastics. I don't know how true this is to the bebop lore, but I thought it was a nice bit of factoid lol.

Have you seen the official IWI torture test for it? It eats sand for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I think it's reliability comes from the full framed rail and how the slide sits inside the receiver. I wish more companies made guns this way.

Lol thank you for the kind comment! I did make a few mistakes in the video as the barrel is not nickel plated, only stainless steel. Although I'm sure you could get it nickel plated custom. Its a beautiful gun and I wish they kept more in production.

Cowboy Bebop is tough to beat though, definitely one of the best. The way I see it, there's SO many great anime out there, but there's also so much bullshit so it can be a huge turn off for many.

@@FrontierSetter It isn't entirely impossible but IWI isn't even listed on the California roster of allowable handgun manufacturers. There are restrictions to who can buy it new legally, limitation in terms of how many are in the state to purchase, and the chances ones in the state being sold are rare to the point that finding one is difficult and nearly impossible...I seen a listing for one in San Diego from 2014...I'll either have to settle for another CZ 75 clone or move sometime before I die and buy one :( Avoid California like a plague.

Oh man, that's a rare find! I've had some issues with this one, the firing pin can rotate inside the channel, causing the gun to seize entirely. I know the newer models don't have this problem. I think it's a great looking gun otherwise. Trigger is smooth and obviously AESTHETIC.

Thanks for the info! Yeah the pistols are identical, although I do wish I owned the Jericho marked ones. The frame mounted lever I like nore, even though I haven't wielded it. The slide mounted one makes it hard to rack since the slide is already pretty small.

@@FrontierSetter You are right. Nowadays (almost) all we are given is 'lightweight plastic-framed (or to sound cool polymer-framed) which feel kinda crappy and toy-ish in hands. Maybe I am wrong due to my limited experience with real firearms, I have been on the shooting range only 3 times in my whole life. But I preferred good old trusty Makarov PMM over modern plastcky 3rd gen Glock 17. Extra weight doesm't bother me, I have big arms, just like you.

Ah yes the Makarov, also a classic lol. I don't mind any gun in particular. I do carry an HK p2000sk which is a polymer framed gun, just do to weight though. Carrying it daily does make a difference. But there's no denying the full metal guns feel better!

Oh man, that's a great round count! I usually replace my recoil spring and extractors around 10k rounds. It's a beautiful gun though, love how it looks and feels.

I really like the p07. Very modern, also has good lines. I've shot the sp01 which was very slick, great trigger. Damn, 380 is pretty cheap. But idk, it's hard to compare these guns since the aesthetics are so different. 🥲

It is longer than the 941s. I think this model is the 941r, but imported by Magnum Research so its designation is MR9915R. The 941s from my knowledge is a semi-compact so it's got a full frame but shorter barrel. Your observation is correct.

Plus, cowboy Bebop is a western basically so the english is fitting lol. I feel like there still isn't anything like it today.

Trigun is also pretty good when the villain Legato becomes part of the story but Cowboy Bebop still the best. They are planning to do a live action of that and I’m like “please, don’t do it!” I’m worried that they’ll ruin it lol.

frontier.setter also, the polymer is really good for quick draw and for conceal carry and is great for fast shooting but steel would be better for pistol whipping and would last longer. If you live nearby, will you let me shoot it?

I agree with all statements! I've never shot the polymer like I said, but I can imagine it being really good at close retention, defensive, style shooting for sure. I haven't seen all of Death Note but my gf loves it. Trigun is legit. Ugh, I heard that the netflix adaptation was a total garbage fire lol. I saw the trailer and already knew it was gonna suck. Too bad because I do like Willem Dafoe. I live in Fargo, ND at the moment, but the Jericho is still in Massachusetts :C But I am down to hit up a range if you live nearby lol. SEE YOU SPACE COWBOY. I'll watch movies and pick out wether that particular weapon was available then or they switch simular weapons when there is a scene change (1911 and a Star copy of 1911 example). I can't remember the specific models, but I know theres issues with the firing pin block and decocker/safety. Some of the parts are fragile in some of the CZs.

frontier.setter I have heard about that too. Garland Thumb did a good video on the SP-01 and said that the 75s are basically meant to be SA guns first, so practice the DA trigger but not as much as the SA.

I've shot the SP01 a few times. Its a solid gun. The DA trigger is actually pretty smooth, SA is super crisp.

I own a scorpion in the carbine config that's super fun, thinking about converting it to a SBR soon. How you like the cz99s? The grip ergos look good.

As a matter of fact the first one I see listed says Jericho on the slide. If/when I pick one up I'll have to remember to get one with that detail.

The Cz99s are epic, for the price. Like a thicker Sig p226 but with a horrible trigger. Heavy so almost no recoil. Because they are ambidextrous it feels wrong to only shoot one at a time. Since there were an ugly gun special at about 200 I couldn't have just one. It's silly and impractical for anything but fun to dual wield them but man it puts a smile on my face or that of any guest I have try em out.

I definitely want to, but I gotta get the guns first lol. Something I will plan to do in the future for sure!

I honestly like the frame mounted safeties a lot more, it's much easier to rack the slide. Oh man, I LOVED Firefly. It's funny, I got into that series AFTER watching Serenity and then was deeply saddened to find out they cancelled the show :C lol. I think Cowboy Bebop is right up your alley! @@FrontierSetter I'm half way through E1 right now. Lovin it. Great artwork too. The 941 in single action only makes it tricky to carry. Not sure how I'm going to do it. Maybe have to go no round in the chamber. Hate doing that but I can't figure out how to be safe with a round chambered.

I guess you'd have to carry it like a cocked and locked 1911. I'm not used to actually using frame safeties though. I have one on my USP Compact, but it's always on fire with the hammer decocked. Not sure if I'd carry it in single action though.

It's a pretty soft shooting gun too! I wish I had the actual Jericho 941 stamped one, but it all works the same lol. If IMI ever came back and did some kinda collab with Cowboy Bebop to make the actual laser grips, I'd buy em out so fast.

Thanks bro! I will say, the earlier generations of this (the one I have) has this really bad issue inside the firing pin chamber. From how they milled the inside, the firing pin can rotate and get stuck inside the geometry of the channel, causing the whole gun to seize. You have to take the whole thing to a work bench to fix it. That alone makes it completely unreliable in my opinion. I really just have it for collectors sake at this point. The newer models like the one you said with the picc rail is far more reliable. I'd roll with those if I had to pick one to count my life on.

Oh yeah, the newer ones like you mentioned have all the kinks ironed out. It's a very little known problem, it's also the reason why my footage shooting the gun was limited. I had a whole day planned but the gun just locked up for me after only 20 rounds that day. I've seen the torture tests and stuff with the sand with the newer models, looks to be very reliable. I think the price is right too. I haven't seen any in the wild, but I'm sure you could get one online.

I knew about the new live action movie, but I didn't know any recently news about it :C I never have high hopes for these anime or videogame films to live action, but after watching Alita: Battle Angel my hopes are restored. Nickel would be pretty spiffy looking, I think the single action only is a deal breaker for me though.

Yes the IWI modern versions have 40s&w. I'm unsure if the older ones could be in 40 tbh. But at the same time I'm also not sure why you would want to run 40 lol

dunno why i honesly would want .40, but since i tried mine only with the 9mm config it could be interesting to take it for a spink and try it in a short span of times with 3 different calibers :D Anyways I love the gun, i got it for a 500€ like 8 years ago I'm very happy that it has grown in popularity and it finally has some accessories, back than I had to buy my holster from an israeli company for fucks sake XD U know what i'll make a video of mine to share with the world since it seems to be the oldest version i've seen so far and since it's the only one i've seen with a burgundy blued finish...Don't ask me why...

I agree! I had no idea what it was when I was younger, so I was surprised when I found out that this was his gun. As much as I think "made up" anime guns are neat, I always appreciate it when the artists spend time and draw real life firearms instead.
