this is like a child looking at the night sky through binoculars proclaiming that he has seen the universe in its entirety. i enjoyed it very well made, would love a sequel
This is hilarious, I love how some of the iceberg incidents are treated like real ones. Some suggestions to add to the iceberg: - Dodging a battleaxe : I’m not sure where this joke originates, but Jerma repeatedly claims he can dodge a battleaxe live on stream whenever people doubt his abilities. “GAS” - During a House Flipper stream, Jerma made a Saw house and narrated the rooms using Jigsaw’s voice. For some reason, he’s convinced the Saw movies use poisonous G A S to kill their victims often, and repeatedly hammered this joke while voicing Saw. - Died to Pinwheel: A joke referring to the boss of Dark Souls 1 that is incredibly easy to beat. He actually defeated Pinwheel in his stream, but people regularly joke that despite being a good player, Jerma died to Pinwheel. “S C O R N” - In an attempt to gaslight his viewers during a playthrough of the game Scorn, Jerma took a small break mid-game to voice a bunch of different variations of an ominous-sounding “Scorn”, however forgot to turn off the filter when returning to stream, immediately ruining the bit. Now chat repeatedly begs him to play the S C O R N soundbite for amusement. +2 / -2: A joke that originates from Jerma’s stream with Etalyx playing Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days. They had 4 hours to beat the game, but every good joke added 2 minutes to the timer, and every bad joke took away 2 minutes. +2 and -2 are still frequently used in Jerma’s chat to this day to designate whether a joke was good or bad.
I think I remember the first time he mentioned dodging a battle axe in the Big Brain Academy stream everyone got really confused since it came out of nowhere. 31m46s Big Brain Academy with chat
I would suggest to add in the list: the naked stream, the burn-in incident, EREN, and LALA dog The naked stream I can't exactly point out on which stream started, but I can record of him talking that he was dreaming being naked and streaming, and later streams, in smite, there is one meme where there's an image of him just naked. Nowadays people ask him to stand up, but he's always on fear that his pants fall down, and his dream becomes reality. The burn-in tv is in one of his monster ranger 2 streams, where there is "One guy moment" tell he burn his tv with jerma's face, and almost got a new tv because of this, one of the funniest things to this day to me. And EREN is an old meme, older than the time I started watching him, so I can't actually say when and how it's started, and he's reformed to his addiction of saying it. LALA dog is an occuring theme that people keep asking him to do this. Don't know when it started, but still to this day being asked to do. Hope this helps on the way of understanding that jerma isn't real
Further explanation to the sus guy meme, which nobody seems to understand. The "When the Impostor is sus" meme DOES NOT depict an impostor. It depicts a crewmate with murderous intent upon realising who the imposter is, because they are sus. The Sus Guy is not an imposter, the sus guy is a nefarious but righteous force that fights evil with evil. Thank you for coming to my TED talk
I always interpreted it as being what an impostor looks like when they are being sus (hence, "When the impostor is sus"). In other words, an uncanny alteration of that which it is imitating.
He helps me heal from a world of pain, and I eat while watching his streams and it’s pretty much the only way I can get a whole meal down he’s my anti-hero
Dude he reminds me of me during the covid shutdown when I came out of the closet higher than fuck on meth... I even look like him a little. Behaved like him too! I didn't handle everyone knowing I'm gay well at the time. Now I'm sober and get to come out sober. A blessing from my higher power!! 💘
theres a lot of it that even We as jerma fans arent sure are true or not. when jerma does something like In Character (i.e. the stream where he pretended he was going to hire a replacement) he’ll just pretend its real from that point on
Correction: I believe Glue Man’s first appearance was in the video titled ‘Gabe “The Glue Man” DeGrossi’ published in October 2014, where his _second_ appearance was in Jerma Rumble 3 in January of the following year.
If you are making a part 2, there has got to be the inclusion of the Jermacord VC birth incident. After jerma's discord server shut down the vc channel, rumours of an incident where someone gave birth in voice chat with camera ON are said to have lead to this shutdown. moderators say it was too hard to moderate and that could have been their tipping point
As someone who has ONLY watched youtube compilations and bits of Jerma, i needed this thx! EDIT: Ok i have watched too much Jerma youtube. I knew almost every single one of these. And this needs a part two with even deeper lore, like Jerma miss remembering disney song lyrics for Alladin, his turtles having sex at the dentist story or my personal favorite of him eating bugs with a hot doctor in biker shorts.
His audience can be polarized by whether they started watching during his RU-vid era. Both groups are pretty sizable, he's grown on twitch but he also got stupid views on YT. Stuff like the Oreo Incident are more known by the RU-vid audience. It's not "devotion", just "recency". There were also fewer raw hours of content to parse for in-jokes and lore back then, so if you were there then finding the Oreo story was easier than, say, keeping track of the Ballfondler saga, more than a million people saw that video. Shpee and Byeah are good examples of what I mean. They aren't "obscure" (they were both ubiquitous) they're just fucking old so new viewers have no reason to be familiar.
Thank you! I'm developing a game full-time so it's gonna take a few more days to upload the part 2. I don't wanna be "that guy" but ring the bell if you wanna get notified rofl
I know I’m insane now because I know by heart that Jerma was playing NOITA when the debt began, and was $3.5 billion pre-bomb defusal game, but the footage of the game playing at 3:04 set alarm bells off in me.
The best part about this video is some of the things that are completely legitimate match up so well with the over-the-top exaggerations too like the Oreo incident
I started watching Jerma 2 months ago and was really entertained and random. Videos would range around 1-8hours, would've really like it if this video was half an hour but goodjob and thanks mate!
I adore jerma, my boyfriend got me into him. He is a sub and adores the guy, I started watching him and I instantly loved him. He reminds me of a goofy dad and he helps heal a big part of me. The community is so funny we all mock and tease him because it’s pretty much impossible to make this dude genuinely mad he’s honestly so kind I love him 🫂.
