Everything else aside I really want a series about a adventurer that never speaks and a very talkative wizard that never shuts up going on adventures together
not exactly wizards. the theme is set in sengoku-era of japan. but the character archetype is the same. chipper knowledgeable side protag, quiet mc that never speaks (at first)
haters will witness jermas childlike sense of wonder and tear him down using unimaginative slurs to cover up for the fact that their cynicism and irony poisoning have made such genuine happiness seem impossible to them
truly a heartpounding adventure, just seeing old wizard jerma and Sir mike, dreading the coming storm of the VERY BAD WORD. i was dreading the moment Sir Mike learned to turn on his voicechat, and revealed his hatred for jerma. but it was all misplaced thinking on my part. Sir mike was an honorable hero until the very end, despite him being mute, it didnt matter. he got the helmet from jerma, he let him meditate, he gave him THE RUBY, they were truly the best of companions. alas, all good things must come to an end, and the very thing jerma used to help him; magic, was his downfall.
@@lemnlyme Jerma did a "speedrun" of Kane and Lynch where he had to complete the game in a few hours. His time limit would increase or decrease depending on certain things. He would get -2 mins for making an unfunny joke, and +2 mins for funny jokes.
That's how it always goes. You're having fun, doing your own thing, being silly and then some toxic a-hole shows up and sucks the fun out of it for everyone.
@@hoshii.8533 Jerma doesn't tolerate any instance of hatefulness or instigation on his streams. He's made it clear. This is the best thing he could've done.
@@r3n837 sure, if you want a word to do that to you you can let it. But why not gain resilience to something that shouodn't hurt you in the first place
class act that Jerma.. handled it like it was nothin. On a more serious note voice chats have always been like this regardless of the game so, not that surprised he'd run into someone who'd say that.
@@Festivekiller Why are you lecturing Robert? When did he insinuate that he didn’t know the world was already like that? Do you lack reading comprehension? Stop trying to play smart. Also, it still isn’t an excuse to ruin someone’s fun. Just because it’s always “been like that” doesn’t mean that it should be tolerated.
I love that he (un?)intentionally brought it over to the other player as if he were helplessly incompetent and couldn't fight them on his own. Like a person grabbing onto a rescuer while drowning and pulling them under. Makes me laugh.
this kind of stuff is most likely the reason why jerma plays either single player games or multiplayer games with friends only. you just can't trust people, even if you're a nice guy there are still people out there who just have zero regard for others. its really a shame because i love watching jerma interact with other people, like back when he played mmos. but oh well, can't have it all.
Yuuup, played TF2 a bit recently and with its dwindling playerbase unfortunately you get left with a heavy mix of either trolls with bigoted names and spams if it isn't just a bot doing it and then genuine people who are just trying to have fun with an old game. Its sad and frustrating to have to mute or vote kick someone every couple minutes, and that's just on my lonesome and I'm not even one of the targeted groups. Jerma on the other hand has got to moderate for his crowd not only to not get suspended/banned himself of streaming platforms but also to ensure his viewers who do belong to those groups aren't just being second hand harassed all stream, people have to deal with it enough as it is. Pitiful behavior.
@@UndeadGary I see this as a good thing, filters out all the bad players, couldn't imagine letting petty stuff like that restrict me from playing what I enjoy
@@UndeadGary I stopped playing tf2 for about a year now because of one server full of hateful people. Said horrible things about wanting to do horrible things to certain people. I called him out and started a vote kick, which failed, then I got kicked when he started a vote. I just haven’t wanted to play since because of that guy and his friends.
@@HyperMinecraftGuy Ya unfortunately with less people around the toxic people have more power. There are still a bunch of nice people around but depending on region your choice of servers might leave you wanting in that department. It sucks because I still enjoy the game and for me it was a social pub game to just talk to people and have fun but its become increasingly more insular over time and I fear soon it either be dead or not worth it.
the dramatic underwater gurgling had some of the most unanimous +2s from chat I've ever seen. sad that dude ruined the Dark Wizard's quest but i will forever remember the adventures of Skrumplestiltskin and Silent-Mike
@@TOBY-jy7bz i remember my pappy fought in the cod lobby wars for my freedom. i don't remember why dropping slurs 24/7 progressed the war or what bearing that really had on my existence today but i think i'm proud. he tells me i should be anyway because it's all he ever talks about it'd be nice if he played a game with me, spend a little father-son time instead of denouncing everything new as being soft but he's building my character oh hey there's someone having fun, gotta go remind them what the war was like! during peacetime no less!
@@spacebassist talking as if the Vietnam War wasn't peace time. If the US wanted they could start another peace time war just like Vietnam. Because no one was invading other than the US. There was peace time all over the US during the Vietnam war
Perhaps I’m just soft from actually having parental supervision as a child, but I don’t see the fun in bullying strangers. Slurs or not, online bullying in games doesn’t make sense to me AT ALL. Literally all Jerma did was spawn in, and he was INSTANTLY insulted. Why? It’s not even like a “We’re losing this match and it’s your fault so I’ll take it out on you!” kind of deal, nor an “I’m going to get in your head so you play worse and then I’ll win!” thing. It’s just “Hello. I hope you drop dead.” What’s the thought process there? Jerma didn’t make a sound, he didn’t even move, but he got insulted simply for.. existing?? Some CoD dudebro needs to fill me in on why it’s so common in pretty much every game. I don’t understand.
The thing is that people like this are purposefully trying to be offensive, they WANT to get a negative reaction because they think it's funny :( really sucks that so many gaming communities are flooded with them
As far as I know, the guy just said it. I don’t know if it was even directed at him, which is the unfortunate thing. The guy just said it for the sake of saying it.
yeah i dont get the appeal either, ive literally completely dropped off of multiplayer online games bc of it, in every single one people will end up not playing bc of toxic people until you have this melting pot of only shitheads who play the game saying shithead things to each other
This really goes to show that some people have zero social awareness and think that saying the most out of pocket and judgmental things = an epic main character moment. No, you look like a child.
Jerma put 100% into the roleplaying! Even though the first person he properly got to roleplay with wasn't talking, it was so genuinely wholesome to see them interact with Jerma anyway and engage with it.
This was the best move he could've taken. If he ignored it and continued the rest of the RP would be uncomfortable. If he told them to stop, it would've spiraled into a messier situation.
I think this was a huge overreaction. I am a lesbian myself but quitting a game just because someone randomly threw out the word, despite it being a nono word, is so odd to me.
@@zarrowthehorse You have to consider a lot of other factors for this. If he kept going like nothing happened, some people in chat would be irritated that he let it slide. Not only that, but for the rest of the RP, there would be a looming tension since they sharing the same server with that person But the BIGGEST overwhelming reason that he didn't continue is because Jerma has made it abundantly clear that there is no tolerance for hate speech, politics, or anything that causes serious unrest in his streams. It's not just about a single word ruining the fun, it's about the entire stream and the communitys reaction. Regardless of if you are offended or not, you can't speak for ten thousand other people.
@@wavehellholein my experience it's much more fun to just leave that game and join a different one than staying with hateful people just to prove a dumb point to yourself. It's miserable sticking around those people just because you don't want to 'let them win'. Just leave them to their own world of hatred and continue your fun game elsewhere, not caring what they think. I'm a lot happier that way.
@@smallguy2 facts. jerma was recently canceled for luring people out into the woods by mimicking the sounds of their loved ones horribly injured. not sure what his motives were though, i keep getting downvoted on reddit whenever i mention my theory about organ harvesting
jerma is unironically a little sweetie, i love how easily he lets himself have fun with things and how amicable he is. he slips in and just enjoys things i want to be more like him one day
People need to understand it's not just hearing a WORD that is the problem. It doesn't matter if you're part of LGBTQ or not, you cannot tell me that the vibe wasn't ruined as soon as someone in the lobby says a hateful term. No one wants to keep swimming, even if someone shit on the opposite side of the pool. Just because you can say that the shit doesn't effect you doesn't make it any less uncomfortable for everyone to stay in the water.
@@cornjeebus Assholes who jump online to throw slurs around usually are just there to get a reaction, I think Jerma handled it well by not feeding him and moving on
@@trickytraveller3272 that's true, he handled it very professionally, but it would've been nice to hear at least one "what a fawkin idiot" towards the situation instead of just the apologies. If not towards the idiot in question, but to remind some of the idiots in chat why that sort of thing shouldn't be accepted as normal
@@cornjeebus As trickytraveller has said, it will only encourage them as it they are baiting for reactions. Ignoring and muting them is just the better solution in this situation.
W Jerma for how he handled the situation. He didn’t just sit and laugh along, he didn’t scream/overreact and make a joke out of it. This is my semi-first impression of him in his streams, and I really enjoyed the silly role playing :) what a nice, silly, goofy lad.
You know, it's sad but people like those in the video actually think this way. They're so miserable and hate the world as much as they hate themselves, if not more, because they see others in better frames of mind than them, having fun or living a great life. They want others to suffer because suffering is all they know, but they also have the opprotunity to experience joy but slap an outreaching hand to the side. The best thing to do is ignore those pitiful creatures and just continue doing what makes you happy, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
@@tovahwulf oh, so racism isnt cool unless they disagree with you? Cool. You might hate roaches, but atleast you dont hate perverted men who sodomize each other!
people in the comment section are either: 1) "awesome rp, really funny!" 2) "good on jerma for handling that well" or 3) mad that they have to wait over 8 minutes to hear a slur
there's also the small minority that are "why are you guys mad about a word! go outside", then get dog-piled on in the replies and end up deleting their own comment
i got tricked. thought there is room for drama on this channel, clicked on the video, but actually have just watched the funniest clip in existence. thank you, i am now a fan of this knowledgeable old wizard.
It's not as bad as i thought it would be but still, how dare this cringe gamer RUIN our wholesome wizard rp. This bit was so funny, shame it had to be cut short by someones weird 40 year old uncle saying a slur into the mic.
Giving 'em way too much credit by saying they're 40. Sounds like some early 20s basement dweller at best, probably some kid in his 4chan phase at worst.
People here getting angry that the Jerma Clips channel had an actual jerma clip and not just the slur part. It's sad to see chat go from :D to D: instantly after it happened.
I just wanna say I've been seeing your clips since your channel started, and I really like how your editing has gotten! Like for example, the added audio of the kenneth haight part made me laugh, and i probably wouldn't have otherwise since i didn't know the reference :) edit: also it's hilarious seeing people mad about the video being 9 minutes. who would have known that "wholesome roleplay ruined by a slur" would include the wholesome roleplay part... mind blown.
This reminds me of folks on reddit who defend people saying the most fucked shit to others in chat or even Jerma himself. Like, it's clear where he stands on this. What's wrong with feeling upset at a literal slur?
Exactly. People have freedom of speech and can say whatever they want, but if you say something such as a slur then expect to have some backlash. It's within others free speech to say that the f slur is wrong. I don't get why people jump to the defense of the person who SAYS the slur as if they're a victim to "woke culture" and "pc liberals". Like no, they just said an incredibly offensive slur that has a nasty history behind it. The person who should be defended is the one who has been called the slur.
Completly immersed myself in the roleplay to the point i almost forgotten i was just watching Jerma pretending to be an old magic dude. I was actually expecting the slur to come from the chat.
wait, this is super fucked up, but as a Gay™ i choked on my laughter watching this. shout out to jerma for just shutting that shit down instantly. sad that put such a damper on this fine wizardly gentleman.
I’ve definitely had an online experience like that before where I’m having fun with my friends and some guy says something like that and bums everyone out :(
just because this is something that is considered normal in gamer voice chats, doesn’t make it okay imo. it could be very hurtful to someone. jerma did the right thing by just carrying on without the vc, we don’t need it to have a good time anyway :)
