Agreed, unfortunately. He built all those players up to heights they never would have reached without him, they all grew massive egos and ultimately betrayed him.

Who was the South American player who played for Newcastle, that Bobby said was not allowed to play for his national side in the Copa America as it was not an important competition? Think he left he club not long after that 🤔

@@Leon-vc8gg Nolberto Solano of Peru was the guy I was thinking of. Googled it 😀. Lost some respect for Bobby after hearing about this as you can’t tell someone not to play for their national team in a major competition.

@@rogan70 of course you can. Solano was paid by Newcastle and Newcastle should come first before country.

@@rogan70 the euros happen in the summer mate, not during the season like the afcon etc. If Newcastle have injuries and a depleted squad but want to qualify for European competition to boost club revenue for the following season, then the players they pay wages to need to respect the wishes of their employer and refrain from playing for their country when their clubs needs them to stay.
