My friend showed me you. I thought it was niche and interesting and what cool people listened to. I still liked it a lot a lot. But I was 18. That was in 2015. I had a psychological breakdown this year. I had dissociation since 2016 and took antipsychotics for years. I wanted to ‘return’ to reality through them, the dissociation having taken it away, it seemed. I am individuated. It isn’t psychosis. It’s modern life. I listen to you now and there’s no plastic packaging encasing it. I can actually hear it. Thank you.
well, everyone seems so excited for this reunion. i'm curious as well, but i'm not so comfortable, because is like if there is this fear of losing the image that i have of this awesome band. let me explain: i always loved them for their violent music, but mostly for their obscurity at shows, that incomunicability that there were in their songs, like if there was a secret in every word of every lyrics. or like if they didnt want to be understand by everyone. i don't know if it's true but it was something that i loved, and still love. i hope that this awesome particularity wont be lost, that this wont became one of that shitty reunion that the band members' do just to gain some money or to prove themselves that they are still able to play. i hope that, now, with this ep and the following tour, the mystery of jerome's dream won't be lost just to gain some popularity or money or i don't know what else. if there are some grammar errors, forgive me, but understand what i am trying to say.
This is not about money - this is about returning to something that meant so much to us, and the opportunity that presented itself solely through the support and confidence of the community. We're are not taking this opportunity lightly, and it is in no way driven by having to prove anything - we don't. We have nothing to prove. One of the main reasons why JD's music seemingly stuck around has likely been the fact we never really set out to prove anything - the music always came from necessity. Through it resonated with other people, it was really for us. We made the music we made to survive... 17 years later, a conversation sparked the questions - "should we do this?" and if we do, "what would this look like, or how would it play out?" ... from the beginning, we knew that if we did a new record, it had to be rooted in the same principles our previous records were rooted in: the necessity of artistic/ creative expression, and the desire to sonically document the dark corners of our minds, and to not be afraid of the vulnerability of it all. We're older now, and we are in different places in our lives, but we still have the capability of tapping into the same territory we were tapped into when we recorded our early work. That said, this iteration of JD will become what it is - we aren't trying to replicate the past - we are writing the present. That's all that matters.

This is definitely going to be their best work. I can see so much passion in what they've been saying and doing this past year, and I seriously couldn't be happier for them.
Not nearly as chaotic or dissonant as your older screamo stuff. Feels super melancholy and am intrigued to see how the vocals will fit into these instrumentals. Good shit!
This is probably going to be a weird question, but do the titles of the demos have any relation or relevance to each other? They all seem to have a common theme of loss or losing someone, i.e "missing person" and "call of the search" and the other two "when the son fell" and "enjoy the dead boy", is there some meaning behind it all or am i looking too deep into something as simple as song titles?
Your analysis of what's motivating these themes is astute, and quite frankly not too far off, but what has inspired/ motivated these initial songs are definitely masked in obscurity. Sorry to not be more forthcoming.
These guitar demos were actually recorded in C - but with drop D tuning. We decided to bring the tuning back up to D (drop D tuning) when we rehearsed this past week.
