Jerry is one of the last remaining rock gods of the 90s. Still standing tall and making killer music. I'm sure the guitar is an absolute monster just like his signiture Friedman amp
Alice In Chains are one of the few bands that have a sound and atmosphere that are unique to them alone . You can’t define them as metal, grunge or any one genre, As a lyricists, arrangements ,and his guitar playing Jerry’s one of the greats yet he seems like just a down to earth dude
Gibson is definitely showing some good stuff this year… Adam Jones, Dave Mustaine, Kirk Hammett soon and now Jerry? Absolutely. I’d love to see some Larry LaLonde signatures
Ler is awesome. Does he actually use Gibsons? Feel like I've never seen him with one. I think he's using mostly Fenders now and he had some nice PRS McCartys.
I am blessed to have one in the The Guitar Box. Great looks and Tone . I've always loved JC throught the Years. Actually he still Carries on Today . Out of all those Bands in the Ninties. Alice and CHAINS ⛓️ To me were A Level above. Jerry had alot to do with that. WINO was done Right by Jerry and Gibson Custom Shop.
BRO if you LOVE Jerry so much buy the signature guitar he ACTUALLY PLAYED on the fucking records dude..... I bet these will be $5000+ get FARRRRRKED . Its discusting. Anti cool behavior... I love A I C but fuck me sidways dude
Jerry Cantrell is my favorite guitarist. I have an 2020 Epiphone wine red Les Paul, an awesome guitar! I had seen the king had a wine red Gibson, in a magazine some years back. So when i was choosing a color, I leaned towards that color(red is my favorite color). Lyrics, riffs, Jerry Cantrell can write with the best of em, in any genre!
What's the point? Just 100 made, Gibson never said a word about it, quietly taking orders before the guitar is announced so only people "in the know" get to buy it (and then resell at a profit, as one popped up on Reverb a week ago!). This is ********. You announce a guitar with a video like that, then start taking orders. At this point, they're just teasing suckers who don't have connections.
I was in the hospital when I heard "atone" for the first time. In some ways it was extremely depressing, because hearing Jerry without Layne Staley is so sad. Something is missing. And you can tell that he misses his friend. In another way, I felt optimistic. Jerry never gave up. Jerry is still here, and he's making the most of what he has. That's what all of us should be doing.
You know, sponsoring all these famous rock stars and making their versions of guitars really seems like something you should have done 20 years ago. Like all of us thought and have wanted.
@@joey-mp3qc , What “we” did to Metallica? Lars screwed his own band, and not just over Napster. I bought all of their albums up to “Load,” which kinda sucked. Then they dropped “Re-Load,” which was worse than “Load”. Where Lars really screwed the band is in the notes in the “Binge & Purge” box set. He was rude, insulting, and dismissive about their fans. The guy has no class.
I love Jerry to death, and Gibson has the ability to be a great company, but I am going to miss him playing those G&Ls. His Blue Dress and No War guitars are my favorite signature guitars ever.
Totally guessing, but I would imagine his Gibson deal doesn't prevent him from using those live. They are pretty different designs/features and they don't seem like real competition for each other. We Jerry fans would all love to own both I'm sure. Although Gibson has made some uh interesting legal choices lately.
Super sweet. Gibson, you’ve done a fine job here and whilst it’s not going to be for everyone, there will be 100 stoked people who get their hands on one of these. When Jerry references “JC models” hopefully there’s more to come. A red LP Studio tribute to Jerry’s guitar in the Would video would be awesome (and more affordable 😉)
most all dads made us work for that next guitar, I was a bus boy to earn enough to get a red explorer copy that was about 13+ pounds and my second guitar then I had some come and go or stolen but three years ago I had to sale my guitars and equipment, well glad to say I just bought my first Gibson from the garage and a new marshall head and cabinet the les paul has a bad ass flame with a cherry burst the guitar just says it's a Rock Guitar and to play with the volume at 10.
My First LP was a Brandoni Kit model which I loved. My second LP was an Epiphone Les Paul Silverburst Custom with the EMG James Hetfield pickups. My third LP is my 2011 Gibson LP Traditional in Desert Burst. They've all been great. My next LP I either want the Epiphone Prophecy LP 2020 in Green Burst. Or If I suddenly come into some money a Gibson Les Paul Silverburst Custom.
i just love jerry i always have man just something about him makes a click in my brain i love his documentery on his mom and stuff great stories for such huge fans i hope to gosh they have an epiphone version of this for us who have a small family and simply cant afford this absolute amazing guitar ugh just love this just hope an opertunity will arise big fan tim from london ontario canada
Good on Cantrell!! I hope they can move them for you. Not a lot of people looking for a wine red Gibson these days. Although I’d love to have one I fucking love Jerry Cantrell and Alice in chains
Dude love you Jerry but 9k remember the 90s dude we were bootlegging tapes just to have the best music. Love to have your guitar bro but can't do 9k. Thank you for all you have gave us I know its been hard. Wish you the best and ty
Another youth wishing for the Holy Grail of Christmas gifts..................................a LES PAUL ! And yes I still have all of mine and will no doubt pick this one up, it is stunning and touched by the man himself. No matter what anyone says...................there are guitars and then there are Gibsons.
I have a lp custom wine red and love it. amazing build quality and tone. was my dream gat and now I'm lucky to have one. Sounds awesome through my mark v.
Watching these Gibson videos with these amazing guitars is like scoping unattainable exotic cars, never going to have one, but it is so rewarding to at the very least catch a glimpse of them.
Hey Gibson. Just make incredible guitars. Perfectly set up. Perfect neck, frets like butter, solid electronics, the best tuning machines, bulletproof and not quite so heavy. All these custom shop, signature models, distressed, are kind of pointless to me at least. If I am paying the real money that a real Gibson costs, I just want a perfect guitar. Or maybe I’ll just get a PRS.
I’ll never be able to afford one of these. This is my favorite color Les Paul of all time wine red. Just like my favorite guitarists, Pete Townsend. Jerry you’re awesome too!
Love jerry and I know he does not price these but at almost 10k how and only 100 of them how many of his fans will ever actually get there hands on them.. hopefully Gibson releases a more affordable model next year.. and not an epiphone
Love the Wine Red Les Paul Custom, used to have one back in the day, sadly I don’t anymore. If Gibson brought out an Epiphone model, I’d grab one straight away!
This is a stunning guitar. Jerry Cantrell is one of the greatest players and songwriters of a generation in my view. Perhaps a little under appreciated to an extent too. The attention to detail with the checking on the binding around the body and the little scratches are fantastic. Might have to sell a kidney or something to finance one!
I was skeptical when I heard about Jerry joining Gibson because I always imagine him playing his G&L. But after hearing his story I'm glad he is able to complete a dream full circle.
@@andreidoanca4262 well, since Mustaine is now with Gibson too, maybe he was able to get one for Kiko? Or perhaps Jerry himself gifted one to Kiko? Interesting 🧐
SACRED is unbelievable. Like Social Distortion putting out HARD TIMES a few years back, I cant get over these established legendary bands putting out amazing and relevant recordings so late in the game. The Obsessed are a band I regret not having been aware of.
A bit of language pun here. I believe Cantrell named it 'Wino' after just English 'Wine', as it's color is wine-like. 'Wine' in Polish is exactly 'Wino'. And funny part starts how Jerry pronounces 'Wino'. In Polish it sounds like 'Łajno' Paste it to any translator and check how Jerry calls one of his favorite guitars ;)
I'd go for the original black...nothin so nice as a black lp custom. Then I can chose to sand it back to natural like Billy did if I wished to pay homage to Mick Ronson like Billy did. That sonic temple cover has got to be one of the most iconic Gibson images
