This track from Leviathan superbly demonstrates what Goldsmith had in spades - an incredible sense of rhythm. And he uses it to create suspense in a scene that in actuality moves slowly, as it shows the crew members in mammoth underwater suits desperately trying to get one of their crew members back to base as his suit malfunctions, all of course being fathoms deeps in the ocean. Not a great movie but a really good scene.
I'm a huge Jerry Goldsmith fan and I've watched 'Leviathan' a number of times, but I haven't given this soundtrack a proper listen (aside from the main title), so I need to rectify that immediately. Thanks for posting this, SoundtracksForLiving, and you've won another subscriber today. :)
Jerry Goldsmith has got to get on the lawyer train and sue whomever made Record of Lodoss War's OST. They very clearly plagiarized this track and "Can we fix it" (track 3 is basically "Wagnard's Evil Magic" and this is "Scorching Decisive Battle")
@@rizkyadiyanto7922 I would love to know how expensive that is, especially when Tarantino does it (Hateful Eight uses "Baja Fuego" from Goldsmith's Under Fire)
