I have so much respect for Jerry Rice. This is someone who truly gave their All . And at the same time, I see he was whipped and told to play football. I wonder if somehow it held him back in some way that we are not privy to. Maybe he isnt even aware of it. It seems that he is always a gentleman on and off the field. He always is soft spoken and yet so intense... It makes me want to know more.. And I think the thanks for that would go to the interviewer Graham Bensinger. Fucking great!!

Jerry was correct; most of the players on every team wanted to win. Reminds me of the story of the young college woman who got an "F" in class and went to see the professor. "Sir, I really need to get an "A" in your class. I'll do ANYTHING to get an A. Anything." she said seductively. The professor looked into her eyes and said, "Anything? Anything? Would you be willing to . . . study?"

A guy like Randy Moss had to come at one point or another, deep catches require tall fast basketball type players to take advantage of all of that open field. It’s a shame he couldn’t win with the Vikings, guys like Jerry Rice and Marvin Harrison are the true goats. Receivers like TO and Randy tend to get pushed away harder.
