Jerry West says the NBA still won’t own up to the fact that his silhouette is included in the NBA logo and talks of what he’d do with the royalty money if he received any.

Derrick Iosn Bill Russell wasn't that great of a player if you look in depth. He wouldn't survive in the day's NBA, he's a undersized center and back then the other outstanding center was Wilt, he barely had any competition. And may we also add that he has more than 6 HOF players on his team. West on the other hand could survive this day's NBA as he had a jumper and could create space.

Jerry West IS the logo of the NBA and they could not have a BETTER person to represent the NBA. He is serious, unselfish, driven, tremendous work ethic, focused and honest as the day is long.

Seems like he would like to get paid for it but he's real discrete about how he really feels and his views on it. I can't believe they didn't pay him something by now though. It's kind of crazy to think about.

Hush - not 50% royalties if he got a Penny of each sale that has his logo it’d be a lot I dunno about billions but it also would be more than a penny cuz that logo is on everything not to mention just how often it’s used when nothing is per se being sold but they’re making money ie every game ect

2 points: One, because he's white Two, because of his perseverance. Winning one championship out of 9 finals appearance. The struggle he went through to reach his goal is a good emblem for each and every NBA player.

I just wonder how they would pay the royalty bc every player in the nba has that logo for god knows how many years & how could u figure out a number ? They should have cut him a one time large check for it. I guess they could pay him x amount for each season. I heard their was talk of mj being the Logo but I think it looks perfect & mjs would be so identifiable. If i did not learn this trivia I'd never know it was west. But Jordan's silhouette is all over nike with him in that pose dunking.

money is part of the reason why I don't think they would ever change it name someone worth changing it to that they would be able to change it to for free, cuz I will tell you right now they will not be able to use Jordan for free they wouldn't be able to use Kareem for free, in 2017 they could not get away with using anyone worth a damn for free (maybe magic would let them slide)
