The first Aircraft I ever flew in was a DH114, De Havilland Heron Mk1, called “Duchess of Sark”. From Eastleigh to Alderney. In my opinion, they were the most attractive feeder-liners ever constructed. They were replaced by BN2 Islanders and Trislanders, durable, popular and economical. Far noisier and less comfortable. I’m glad that there is or are preserved Herons. They were also part of The Queen’s Flight.

I think you'll find the last airworthy Heron was G-AORG as featured in the thumbnail. I don't theink there are even any of the Riley conversions flying now.

I can still remember very well that in 1976, when I was 14 years old, my mother and myself went on holiday to Jersey for a week on a flight that departed from Ostend airport here on the Belgian coast with an airline that flew with the DC 3. I don't remember the name of the company, but that was my first plane and it was also a very big experience for me.

Many happy memories of operating in and out of Jersey. Our day stops were always a nice treat from the rostering department!

Flew from Gatwick to Jersey back in 1983 on British Caledonian. We got a cup of tea and a shortbread biscuit, which you'd probably have to pay for now. Also, flew from Gatwick to Guernsey on Aurigny in 2014, it only took about 30 mins, and the baggage carousel in Guernsey Airport is the smallest I've ever seen in my life, about 6ft by 4ft!

Fine collection of photos of a great variety of aircraft that don't operate in large APs. Thanks.

Where were all the BM aircraft? Every aircraft in the midland fleet would do JER from all over the UK, should have been a stack of DC-9’s and a bunch of B737’s?
