April 29th, 2015 White House state dinner for Japan Prime Minister. Jersey Boys were performing selections from the jukebox musical, which was popular in Japan.
Estettica This kind of music not make so much cash as others film movies. But i think too that that movie deserved more awards, etc. I love Four Seasons much more since i saw the movie. And i'm glad to share this wonderful music. Greatings for Spain!
I love the film too, specially this actor John Lloyd, he has charisma you can't stop watching him. I saw the play at ASU Theatre in Phoenix AZ it was amazing!
As well as they did, I refer you to the U.S. Navy Band - Jersey Boys Selections. Especially "Rag Doll" as performed by Chief Bill Edwards. Just doesn't get any better, IMHO. See what you think, and give me a reply below. Thanks.
Somehow i just feel like these guys are better than the original four seasons i know its probably just because of how far sound and producing have come but man listening to them and the original its hard to argue which sounds better
There are many talented singers and impersonators, but almost always, non can ever compare to the genius that the original members had. Those guys came up with their own unique sound, and not to mention the genius that is Gaudio to write so many amazing hits. There will never be another group like the original 4.
Love Jersey Boys, but no way they are as good as the Four Seasons, other than in acting and dancing. Frankie Valli’s falsetto is unmatched. Jersey Boys are great singers, but not to the point of having 20 Top Ten hits like the real deal.
@@razorback9926 I didn’t say they were better! I said it sounds better as in it literally sounds like the 4 seasons turned back young and all walked into a modern day studio and re-recorded the songs.
@@razorback9926 lmaoo I must have been drunk😂😂 definitely don’t think that they are better but I do think they’re songs sound better lmao if that makes sense
Wait they in the wrong spots frankie is supposed to be where Tommy is standing and Tommy should be where frankie is standing and Bob should be where nick is standing and nick should be where Bob is standing
Am I the only one who felt that they seemed nervous? I know I would be but I'm just saying. They just seemed off and nervous. Yet still sound fantastic. Saw the play for the 1st time this year. Never knew that it was a true story! Was hands down the best players I've seen next to Phantom of the Opera.
No, you aren't. It's clear, especially when JLY is almost losing his voice in the middle of the video. But hey, singing in front of the political elites is quite thrilling, no wonder! I bet they were nervous all the night before the event!
Estettica you're right. I would not even be able to get up there to sing. I'm not trying to say they suck or anything. not trying to rip on them. just to me it appeared they were nervous a little. understandably so
This showed how it wasn't an easy ride to the top, lots of heartache, john really brought this out in the film, you felt his heart tear when he was dealing with his 'daughter', the pain when he had to start singing those words, the pain just to get started, truley
Literally lmao! From R - L: Michael Lomenda just having a good time. Erich Bergen, rocking his part and born to be onstage, he loves it so much. John Lloyd Young (Who I adore, make no mistake) sounding like he had a really long day and just needed to rest his voice. And Vincent Piazza, trying to keep time, find his notes, and figure out what the hell he was doing with these Broadway guys. Loooove it!
Tommiegirl I think you nailed it. Vincent is great in the film but you can see his nerves having to perform live, something the other three have done so much.
@instrumentalbytina It's interesting that you said this. John's mother told a story a few years ago, back when the show originally came to Broadway, of when she was introduced to Frankie Valli. Frankie told her that when he listened to the cast album, he wasn't told what it was right away, and he actually thought it was his voice! The ultimate compliment, am I right?
Music in the WH. Much needed. Put your hands together 4 our country, with a hand shake. No guns or knifes. Together we stand devided we fall. Law & order rings of fire. Peace my brrother.
Obama was the one who had command performances for his family & friends so often...at tax payers expense??? to please his daughter's and himself . Trump did not waste money for his own benefit having command performances. Sorry. Fact!
Esper Nova i’m 16 and i’ve loved frankie valli and the four seasons since i was little, not every young person just likes bands after movies come out about them🙄
No hate to these guys and I’m sorry if you loved their performance but this just seemed so off from the original song...also I kinda cringed when they skipped some of the lyrics near the end.
Can't anyone tell how much John Lloyd young struggles to reach the high notes. He literally screws his face up to sing these parts. Compared to someone like Ryan molloy, he isn't great at all. Ryan molloy was by far the best Frankie I've ever seen, and he can sing that high without screwing his face up.
Do you really think all the Frankie singer's talent is based on their faces and not their tone? If so, that's really stupid. In this performance it seemed like John had been overusing his voice and wasnt able to rest before singing this time, because tone wise he usually sounds a lot better and can hit the notes harder.
Jason benamati lmao thats funny because John actually was taught by the actual Frankie Valli how to sing like him for movie purposes, John is just getting older. imo i like the face, when most singers make expressions while singing it just shows how much they're putting into the song tbh
You idiots realize it just sounds like his voice is giving out from overuse, right? All you have to do is listen to any of his other live performances and you can tell his tone is usually a lot better.
This not good. Went to watch Jersey Boys in London and sounded much better. The selling point of this group lays in Falsetto and unity of the band (both elements missing in this song)
Jason benamati if you listen to him on the Original broadway recording he sounds much better, his high notes haven’t aged with him, but when he was in his 20’s he could do them no problem
