It's crazy that you murder 2 police officers in the first 5 minutes of the game all because the driver was paranoid and the cops could have been trying to simply pass you. Then you find out the main characters family and friends are running a opium farm, basically selling heroin, one of the most addicting and life ruining substances you could sell. The police and border patrol in this game are so level headed, respectful and well mannered that it makes your character in contrast look even more evil. The team that made this has to be insane. If the developers told everyone this game was a satire on pandering then it would honestly make MORE sense to me than the final product.
Anyone else find it hilarious that the game seems to be about people being unjustly terrified of beings whose words give them power over others and that's wrong and evil or something... but the people with those powers are all narcissistic, sociopathic monsters who abuse them to manipulate those around them; All the while the sort of people who would play this game and agree with its message are the same sort of neurotic word-fearers as those who have put an N-word filter bot as a mandatory addon for a stream specifically for N-word enjoyers? It's like poetry.

As a point of reference, iPhones would have been a thing for 2 years at this point, and even if you didn't own a smartphone, iPods and Flip-phones were super prevalent for the last 8 years as well. On top of that, the upper-case I internet was well and truly hitting mainstream, CDs and DVDs were still the main form of physical media, and the Xbox 360 had released late 2005. EDIT: 2:03:07 Vinyls definitely weren't much of thing in 2009 either, and even if someone had vinyls at the time, it was either older generations who kept their old music collections, or white hipsters, not black lesbians.

Most people didn't even know what they were by 2009. I used a tape recorder/reader in 2009. I was in highschool and from a poor family. I wanted to listen to music while I worked on my school work, but all I had was an old Sony Walkman. I used it for the radio though, since none of the tapes we had were my genre, lol. Aside from my anecdote though, you're right on the money.

Woke character design is better categorised as being narcissistic character design. They are made in such a way that draws attention to what the characters without any real significance. It goes against the principal of Chekhov's Gun - if you highlight the racial diversity of the cast, someone better get called a slur.
