During our holiday in Jerusalem 2019 we walked through Hezekiah's Tunnel. I was surprised that they still let people do this. That's why I filmed the whole walk start to finish as a complete record - you might want to skip to 21:00 after watching the beginning cause it does get a bit samey.

This is amazing, that men so long ago cut out of the rock the tunnel. It is so long and narrow. It was a major task to remove the chiseled rock out as they cut. No machinery, just men with picks, shovels and strong determination to do it!

That looks more like they enlarged a natural cave . Probably the former natural spring path before the water took a different route. There is not a straight line in that whole tunnel. It sways back and forth like a natural sinuous passage.

@@MS-gp2xg if that is truly all a man made tunnel they would have had to divert the water away for the whole construction or it would fill up. But if it was a enlarged natural cave crevice the water could flow through freely
@shevetlevi2821
@shevetlevi2821 Год назад
@@reaj2010 It's not a natural cave at all. I've been through it several times. Although the height varies the width is consistently about 2-3 feet wide for its entire 600 meters. This is plain to see in the video. How would a natural cave be consistently the same width? Furthermore all through the length of the tunnel you can see what look like claw marks in the rock walls from whatever tools they used.

Interesting how many doors were sealed shut and are opened up with time. I guess when its time the ark of the covenant is to be found the door that is sealed shut by stones and things to hide it will be found and opened. Its just a matter of time.

I'd like to experience that, but wouldn't rats occasionally be in that tunnel? Not that I'm scared of rats, but they do bite and attack occasionally.
