@@brukozy not exactly, that studio makes movies by actually, physically painting these on canvas and then making photos to compose the film. Roughtly every second frame in the movie is an actual painting. Now what you might be thinking of is that they did hire people to pose for the frames so that especially for more tricky poses the artists would have a reference. And in order to make those references complete it was filmed and then the frames were taken from that as references. But 40 000 frames were hand painted. If you google it you can find the photos from their studio with the artists painting the paintings. On the main page of the project you can also meet and read up on the artists who do the work. Some of the cadres are based on well known older paintings by famous Polish artists such as Babie Lato by Józef Chełmoński (1875). They included those in the scenario adding paintings around them to animate them into a scene. In February of this year there was an exhibition of the paintings from the movie in Wrocław : ) What is more, because those are actual paintings, on canvas, you can actually go to the project website and buy the paintings that were the actual cadres in the movie and hang them on your wall : ) Every painting has a name of the artist that painted it in its description. It's polish village, 1883/1884. This is a story of Jagna, who was the prettiest girl in a village, an artistic soul. Her mom wanted for her to have a good future, so they arranged mariage with older, but rich widower Boryna, a land owner, whom Jagna didn't love (and her mom knew about it, but told her daughter "love comes and goes, but land remains", in your video it's 3:50 where Jagna's mom and Boryna "seals the deal", Jagna has nothing to say). Jagna is in love with Boryna's son from his first marriage. In addition, because Jagna is very beautiful, many men from treir village desires her, there are rumors about her tempting others, so the woman in the community get jealous. (in your video it's a 3:47 scene where Mayor is dancing with the bride, and his wife reaction).
