Hi, is it possible to use a chemical patina on the surface?

Can anyone advise ? Do you need the Quadaxial Fabric Glass for small 4" -6" tiles

Which brush attachment are you using to polish? Thanks

we use a regular iron wool by hand after an intensive polish with Nylon fiber abrasive wheel for sanding wood and metal surfaces. 6 mm shank, 240 grit

Hi, can the metal gel coats be used in conjunction with AC100?. Thank you.

It is possible, and it works great, but in large surfaces or big pieces, We would recommend to use it in conjunction with AC730, because is more compatible.

It is possible, but we highly recommend to back the metal gelcoats with AC730 stone, to ensure stability and bonding. I would recommend to use AC100 only for indoor small pieces, if AC30 is not available.

Thanks! I'm working with small decorative objects & want a smooth backing. I believe AC730 has a rough finish, granite effect?

AC730 has a rough finish but you can sand and polish it to achieve smooth surfaces. But you can test with AC100 that is easier and faster to work with.

You're flex metal looks much thinner than when I use it. It's really thick if I use their ratios. Also how long do you leave it to cure before polishing?
@resineco
@resineco 2 года назад
Hi! AC730 must be thick, but if you need to apply it thinner, add a few drops of AC730 liquids until the desired viscosity. Be aware that it will be more shinny if is thicker due to higher content of metal filler. leave it for 72h before polishing. this is important. AC730 must be completely dry before polishing.

@@resineco you mean the flex metal liquids, not ac730 liquid? So I guess what you're saying is don't dilute the flex metal too much and to leave it 72 hours before polishing?
@resineco
@resineco 2 года назад
@@ianfong1000 Yes, I wanted to say AC730 flex metal liquid. you can dilute the mix enough to achieve desired viscosity, but be aware that the best is to keep the right mixing ratio as much as possible. But a few drops will help a lot. And leave it 72h before polishing.

Hi! I am a beginner with Jesmonite. Do you need the fiberglass in between the 2 layers or can you do the piece without it? What is the purpose of the fiberglass? Thanks!
@gaillobelrand7185

The fiberglass is to reinforce the tile.

You can mix chopped strand mat in with the back up if you wish.

I'm impressed with the silver metal look. I've used the metal powders with polyesters and polyurethane resins. I used brasso to help shine it up and it works a treat.

It depends on what you are doing with it. What you are making etc. If its a wall panel then make it stronger. If it's a solid ornament then you won't need to add fibreglass unless it has very thin parts sticking out you want to make stronger.
