According to the account from the person who brought him to the US for asylum, Amos Yee fucked up the process at the airport which is how he ended up in jail. He wouldn't have if he had followed the protocol, but he ignored what he was told to do and just insisted that he knew a better way to do it. The guy is just a narcissistic fuckup who believes he's the best thing to ever happen to the world.

@@lewtmen Yes, as far as I know, Amos Yee is still a citizen of Singapore, though I’m sure Singapore doesn’t want him anymore and likewise he doesn’t want Singapore anymore. It’s a mutual benefit. He was granted asylum by the U.S. when he was being disciplined by the government of Singapore, which should have been the job of his parents in the first place. If I remember correctly, it began with Amos slandering diverse groups and also the government of Singapore, believing that he’s entitled to freedom of speech without personal accountability and responsibility.

It isn't that Singapore doesn't want him anymore since he is still considered a Singaporean citizen (maybe wrong, but last update is legally, he still is). Last offense is that he "escaped" the country, knowing it is an offense not to serve the military for 1.5years. If he does return, he will be arrested immediately upon arrival. So he is just piling up offense in Singapore, ran away and is now piling up offenses in America.

So grateful to America for letting my grandfather enter the US. He went to work in the iron ore mines that helped supply the steel for WW2 while both of his sons fought in the Pacific. This kid is the opposite of the immigrants that helped build America.

Way back when Singaoore wanted to prosecute him for free speech violations (go google), he seeked political asylum in the US and lo and behold, US human rights NGOs, that hated Singapore's so called draconian laws protected him and fought for his freedom. Under the protection of US free speech laws, he continued making videos about Singapore and her government and politicians. The US lauded him for bravery until he advocated pedophillia and commited sexual offence. The same people that fought for his freedom abandoned him as he serve a 6 year prison time in the US. If he ever comes back to Singapore, he'll receive proper prison time and a hard life as a free citizen. 99.99% of Singaporeans would want US to have him...he stands for their so called free speech and freedom. It's very obvious that when he says we should feel good about making someone's life better, he really means that we should feel good for making HIS life better.
Let's say his stats are accurate: There are roughly 45 million undocumented people living in the US and if .01% are dangerous that's 450,000 dangerous people running around the US undocumented. That's a huge problem.

I was having a conversation with my South Korean landlord last year. She's younger than me and yet to have her first divorce. I was renting a room in the single floor three bedroom house. Disagreements started when I was accused of spending too much time in the living room. She reasoned that I was renting the bedroom only, with access to the kitchen and bathroom. Our conversation became emotional when I stated that before my divorce I was going to buy a home perhaps allot like this one (I was renting a room in). I explained that in my culture its normal to spend time in the living space rather than couped up in a small bedroom all the time. I explained that I could have bought a home already but for the rising costs driven by increased competition. I said "You dont even know the culture you're replacing." I went on to explain that I dont resent people of other countries for simply making the best of the hand thats been dealt to them in life. But my country shouldnt be allowing them to run me over like this. She proceeded to evict me with 6 days notice which I later read on an official governement website is illegal by local law. But even had I known, I cant afford a lawyer after my immigrant ex-wife took what she wanted from me. I live in a system which goes against my interests and despite having grandparents who worked as police officer and editor respectively, I went to school and got educated, I worked hard holding onto a job by changing career path and upskilling throughout covid and maintaining two or at times three jobs (because employers cover their asses by over hiring to ensure theyre never short staffed leaving us short changed), all of that earned me the privellage to be used by some immigrant to gain access to the country by way of marriage and then evicted from my own apartment before bouncing between unreasonable landlords! I have to stop now I'm getting upset at this.
